Political relations between Vietnam and Armenia have developed well, with exchanges and delegations at all levels, including high-level ones. These visits contribute to maintaining traditional relations and cooperation between the two countries.
On the evening of November 17, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan led a delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia to Hanoi, starting an official visit to Vietnam from November 17-23, 2024, at the invitation of Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man.
Welcoming the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan and the delegation at Noi Bai International Airport were: Standing Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly Pham Phu Binh; Ambassador of Armenia to Vietnam Suren Baghdasaryan.

Mr. Alen Simonyan was born on January 5, 1980 in Yerevan; graduated from the Faculty of Law, Yerevan State University in 2000, is a lawyer. From 2000 to 2002, he served in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia. In 2015, he received a Master's degree in Political Science from the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, and is a specialist in Political Science.
On June 20, 2021, Mr. Alen Simonyan was elected as a member of the National Assembly from the national electoral list of the Civil Contract Party. Since August 2021, he has been the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
Located in Southwest Asia, Armenia covers an area of nearly 30,000 km2 and possesses countless beautiful landscapes bearing the imprint of culture, history and nature. Vietnam and Armenia established diplomatic relations in 1992. The two countries have achieved great achievements in nation building, socio-economic development and deep integration with the world.

In recent times, bilateral economic and trade cooperation has shown positive signs thanks to the implementation of the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union, of which Armenia is a member.
In 2022, Vietnam-Armeria trade turnover will reach 62.6 million USD, an increase of 469% compared to 2021; in 2023 it will reach 342 million USD, an increase of 516% compared to 2022... The two countries still have a lot of potential for cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, science, education.../.
