President Vo Van Thuong: If you are involved in corruption, you will not be able to sleep well in retirement.

On the afternoon of April 27, President Vo Van Thuong met with voters of the three districts of Hai Chau, Thanh Khe, and Son Tra of Da Nang City to prepare for the 5th session of the 15th National Assembly.

At the meeting, the President informed about two issues that Da Nang voters are interested in: the fight against corruption and the revised Land Law.

Talking about the fight against corruption, the President affirmed that in the past and in the coming time, the Party and the State will continue to step up the handling of corruption and negativity with the motto "no forbidden zones, no exceptions, regardless of who the person is".

According to the President, handling corruption is not only in big cases but also in petty corruption. "In the past, if an official had a bit of a bad reputation, they would say they had a safe landing after retirement, but that is no longer the case. If someone is involved in negative corruption, they will not be able to sleep well after retirement. We handle it very strictly but also very humanely" - the President emphasized.

In addition to handling individuals directly involved in corruption, the President said that he will also handle officials who do not fulfill their responsibilities and who do not lead closely enough to allow many officials under his management to commit corruption and negative violations.

"The reason why we discover more and more is because we are determined to do it now. When we are determined to do it, we see many violations. Voters see many because the Party and the government have a policy of doing things openly, without hiding anything. Inspection committees at all levels also handle Party members openly. There are still many cases that are being worked on and will soon be publicly announced or brought to trial," the President affirmed.

Regarding the revised Land Law, the President said that the Government is submitting it to the National Assembly for consideration. In recent times, the implementation of land law and policy has achieved many successes but also revealed many limitations and violations. Typically, up to 70% of lawsuits and complaints are related to land.

Therefore, the President said that in Resolution No. 18 of the 5th Central Conference of the 13th tenure, a number of viewpoints were raised, including how to maximize land resources, resolutely overcome land speculation, corruption, and land complaints...

According to the President, when amending the Land Law, we must address many issues and resolutely overcome corruption, negative land practices, land use speculation, and waste of resources...
