At the reception, the President highlighted the important achievements Vietnam and Italy have made over the past 50 years, emphasizing and thanking the Parties for their support and important contributions to these achievements.
Specifically, receiving General Secretary of the Italian Communist Party Mauro Alboresi, President Vo Van Thuong sent greetings and best wishes of health from General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong to comrade Mauro Alboresi.
Expressing his sincere thanks to President Vo Van Thuong for taking the time to meet him, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Italy said that he and the Communist Party of Italy have always been closely following the development process of Vietnam under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam. The guidelines and resolutions of the Communist Party of Vietnam are very correct, contributing to making Vietnam a symbol of the struggle for independence and a model of dynamic development.
Vietnam's foreign policy has contributed to enhancing Vietnam's prestige and international position, in which it attaches importance to solidarity between countries, respects international law, encourages countries to resolve all disputes by peaceful means; and is a responsible country in international affairs. The Communist Party of Italy always wishes to promote cooperation with the Communist Party of Vietnam, thereby further promoting the traditional relationship between the two countries.
Sharing his comments with the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Italy, President Vo Van Thuong said that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vietnam has carried out the renovation process since 1986 and has achieved many great development achievements. Vietnam has also determined the development path until 2030 and the vision until 2045. With the right foreign policy, Vietnam has mobilized external resources to contribute to the country's development as well as to resolve risks. The President said that this visit to Italy also aims to promote the relationship between the two countries to a new height, and this is also an important activity in Vietnam's foreign policy.
Receiving Vice President of the Italian Democratic Party, Ms. Chiara Gribaudo, President Vo Van Thuong highly appreciated the Party's active support for promoting the Vietnam-Italy bilateral relationship. Vietnam wishes to welcome representatives of the Democratic Party to visit and work in Vietnam, exchanging experiences on issues of mutual concern to both Parties.

Along with promoting people-to-people exchanges, the President suggested that the Democratic Party step up exchanges between the Party's mass organizations and Vietnamese mass organizations.
The Vice President of the Italian Democratic Party thanked President Vo Van Thuong for taking the time to meet him and expressed his appreciation for the speech delivered by President Vo Van Thuong at the State Banquet hosted by the President of Italy yesterday, July 26, which emphasized the friendship between the two countries and sharing and helping each other in difficult times.
The Democratic Party always supports the Italian Parliament and Government in promoting relations with Vietnam. The Democratic Party thanks and accepts the President's invitation to visit and work in Vietnam, a country with remarkable development achievements and an increasingly important international role.
President Vo Van Thuong said that Vietnam and Italy are in a very good stage of development and together with the Italian President, they have determined a further vision for the bilateral relationship. The President also recalled the important event that during this visit, the Italian Parliament approved the Vietnam-EU Investment Protection Agreement. This is a vivid demonstration of the traditional friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries.
The President said that at the State Banquet, the President and the President of Italy both mentioned the solidarity and sharing to overcome difficulties between the two countries, including the Covid-19 pandemic. If Italy valued Vietnam's sharing of masks in the early stages of the pandemic, Vietnam also highly appreciated Italy's active support for vaccines for Vietnam during a very difficult period, including the active support of the Democratic Party and the Party's Vice President personally.
The President hopes that the Democratic Party will continue to have the right direction, gain people's support, improve political and social life in Italy, and strengthen relations with the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Receiving General Secretary of the Communist Refoundation Party Maurizio Acerbo, President Vo Van Thuong expressed his gratitude to Mr. Maurizio Acerbo for his positive evaluation of the Communist Party of Vietnam. The President emphasized that the relationship between the two countries is developing well in all fields, saying that the two countries agreed to bring the Vietnam-Italy strategic partnership to a new height. The President asked the Communist Refoundation Party to support and contribute to this goal; and asked the Communist Refoundation Party of Italy to strengthen coordination with the Communist Party of Vietnam in studying and perfecting policies and guidelines.

The President thanked Mr. Maurizio Acerbo and the Italian Communist Party for their support for the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Vietnamese people over the past time; he hoped that the Italian Communist Party would develop further to continuously improve the effectiveness of cooperation between the two sides. The President also highly appreciated and thanked the Italian Communist Party for coordinating with the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy to organize a seminar on the life and activities of President Ho Chi Minh, contributing to fostering the friendship between the two Parties and countries.
The General Secretary of the Communist Party of Italy expressed his honor to meet President Vo Van Thuong in Rome. Mr. Maurizio Acerbo said that the country and people of Vietnam have always been in his heart since his childhood. Mr. Maurizio Acerbo highly appreciated the achievements of the Communist Party of Vietnam in the history of formation and development, leading the construction and protection of the country with admirable achievements; at the same time, he believed that this visit would bring stronger development to the relationship between the two countries. The Communist Party of Italy always supports the development of this relationship.
