On the afternoon of August 29, at the Presidential Palace, President Vo Van Thuong received the Ambassadors of Ireland, Italy, South Korea and Lithuania to present their credentials.

Receiving the Irish Ambassador, President Vo Van Thuong congratulated Ms. Deirdre Ní Fhallúin on her appointment as Irish Ambassador to Vietnam; believing that the Ambassador will make positive contributions to Vietnam-Ireland relations in the coming time.

Expressing her honor to present her credentials to President Vo Van Thuong, Ambassador Deirdre Ní Fhallúin respectfully conveyed the regards of the President of Ireland to President Vo Van Thuong, and said that the President of Ireland was very impressed with his previous visit to Vietnam and looked forward to welcoming President Vo Van Thuong to Ireland soon.

The Ambassador said that although geographically distant, Vietnam and Ireland have many historical similarities, which contributes to promoting cooperation between the States and people of the two countries.

Expressing his delight at the restoration and promotion of Vietnam-Ireland relations after the Covid-19 pandemic, the Ambassador said that the two sides have increased delegation exchanges at all levels. During this term, a new strategy will be implemented to make bilateral cooperation more effective and practical based on existing pillars of cooperation such as ODA, education, training and people-to-people exchange.

Appreciating the opinion of Ambassador Deirdre Ní Fhallúin, through her, President Vo Van Thuong sent his regards; at the same time, he hoped to welcome the President of Ireland to visit Vietnam again soon.

The President suggested that the two sides promote cooperation in the fields of politics, foreign affairs, economy, investment, education and training, and people-to-people exchange; and share common perceptions on regional and international issues.

The President emphasized that Vietnam hopes that the two sides will further expand existing cooperation; as well as open up new areas that will bring practical results to each side. Affirming that relevant agencies of Vietnam will closely coordinate with the Ambassador, the President believes that during this term, Ambassador Deirdre Ní Fhallúin will realize the development expectations of the two countries.

Receiving the Italian Ambassador, President Vo Van Thuong expressed his pleasure to meet Mr. Marco Della Seta again in Hanoi, after meeting him in Rome during his State visit to Italy at the end of July, and congratulated Mr. Marco Della Seta on his appointment as Italian Ambassador to Vietnam.

Thanking the Italian Embassy for its good coordination with relevant Vietnamese agencies, contributing to the success of the recent visit to Italy, the President believes that Ambassador Marco Della Seta will have a successful term of office, strongly promoting the relationship between the two countries in the spirit of Strategic Partnership.

Through the Ambassador, President Vo Van Thuong once again thanked Italian President Sergio Mattarella for the thoughtful and respectful reception he received.

Respectfully sending President Vo Van Thuong's regards and best wishes from President Sergio Mattarella, Ambassador Marco Della Seta said that Italy highly appreciated President Vo Van Thuong's visit; thanked the President for promptly arranging time for the Ambassador to present his credentials.

Mr. Marco Della Seta said that he will soon start working in Vietnam; especially implementing the Joint Statement on strengthening the Vietnam-Italy Strategic Partnership, including the opening of an Italian Cultural Center in Vietnam, promoting cultural cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries. The two sides will also promote economic and trade cooperation and cooperation in international and multilateral forums.

Pleased with the prompt start of work of new Ambassador Marco Della Seta, the President believes that with the close and effective coordination of relevant Vietnamese agencies, the Ambassador will make an important contribution to promoting the strategic partnership between the two countries in all fields.

Affirming that Vietnam is committed to actively and effectively implementing the Joint Statement between the two countries' senior leaders, the President emphasized "action" - an important factor to bring about achievements in cooperation and wished that the two sides would coordinate more closely in the coming time.

Receiving Korean Ambassador Choi Youngsam, President Vo Van Thuong congratulated and appreciated Korea for appointing a diplomat with extensive experience working in Asia as Ambassador to Vietnam; believing that during his term, Mr. Choi Youngsam will take practical measures to bring the relationship between the two countries to even more important achievements.

Referring to the recent visit to Vietnam by President Yoon Sok Yeol, the President said that the visit opened a new phase in the bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Korea; through the Ambassador, the President respectfully sent his regards to President Yoon Sok Yeol.

Ambassador Choi Youngsam respectfully conveyed the greetings of President Yoon Sok Yeol of the Republic of Korea to President Vo Van Thuong and said that the President highly appreciated the good results of the recent visit to Vietnam and emphasized that Vietnam is a very important partner of Korea.

Expressing the honor and heavy responsibility of taking on the role of Korean Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Choi Youngsam said that he will do his best to further promote the Vietnam-Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, which is currently at its best stage.

In addition to cooperation in the fields of politics, diplomacy, economics, trade, investment, climate change, etc., the Ambassador hopes that Vietnamese ministries, branches and localities will continue to support Korean enterprises to invest and do business smoothly in Vietnam.

Proposing to strengthen cooperation in responding to climate change and economic security, Ambassador Choi Youngsam expressed his hope that President Vo Van Thuong would pay attention and support so that cooperation between the two countries in these fields can be implemented smoothly and achieve good results.

At the reception, Ambassador Choi Youngsam expressed his hope that President Vo Van Thuong will soon visit Korea in the near future.

Thanking Ambassador Choi Youngsam for his good feelings, President Vo Van Thuong said he would arrange to visit Korea at an appropriate time; at the same time, he welcomed the Ambassador's sense of responsibility when taking up his assignment in Vietnam. The President believed that the Ambassador would make many important contributions to the implementation of the commitments between the high-ranking leaders of Vietnam and Korea.

The President emphasized that the upgrading of Vietnam-Korea relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership during President Yoon Sok Yeol's recent visit to Vietnam has truly opened a new chapter in bilateral cooperation. The two countries' senior leaders have pledged to promote cooperation in all areas. Agreeing with the proposal to strengthen cooperation in economic security and climate change response, the President said he would direct relevant Vietnamese agencies to coordinate and implement the plan.

Emphasizing that Vietnam and Korea are on a new journey together in the spirit of “good friends, good partners, good in-laws”, the President affirmed that the two countries will make joint efforts and unite to effectively implement these commitments.

Receiving Lithuanian Ambassador Darius Gaidys, President Vo Van Thuong affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to its relations with Lithuania and believes that during Ambassador Darius Gaidys' term, the relationship between the two countries will develop even more rapidly.

Expressing his honor to present his credentials to President Vo Van Thuong, Ambassador Darius Gaidys said that the Lithuanian Government is implementing a new development strategy, which is favorable for strengthening relations with Vietnam. The Ambassador suggested that the two countries promote new cooperation opportunities besides the field of food import and export.

Emphasizing that there is still much room for cooperation, especially in economics, trade and investment, President Vo Van Thuong stated that Vietnam wishes to promote cooperation with Lithuania in all areas from politics, diplomacy, culture, trade, investment and people-to-people exchange...

Expressing his gratitude for Ambassador Darius Gaidys' good feelings towards the country and people of Vietnam, the President agreed with the Ambassador on the cooperation proposals between the two countries, especially increasing the exchange of high-level delegations and all levels, thereby promoting bilateral cooperation opportunities.

Through Ambassador Darius Gaidys, President Vo Van Thuong respectfully sent his regards to the President of Lithuania, looking forward to welcoming the President of Lithuania to visit Vietnam in the near future.
