President Vo Van Thuong: As patriotic Vietnamese, we can all contribute to the Fatherland in our own way.

On the evening of February 2, at Thong Nhat Hall, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports solemnly organized the program of the President's New Year greetings to overseas Vietnamese and the art program "Spring Homeland 2024" with the theme Ho Chi Minh City - Continuing the shining heroic epic. The program was directed by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Vo Van Thuong, Politburo member, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and his wife; Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Do Van Chien, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Tran Luu Quang, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Prime Minister; Phan Van Mai, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Le Khanh Hai, Party Central Committee member, Head of the Office of the President; Hoang Dang Quang, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee; Nguyen Thuy Anh, Party Central Committee member, Head of the National Assembly's Social Affairs Committee; Le Hai Binh, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department... along with leaders, former leaders of the Party and State, and a large number of overseas Vietnamese, cadres, soldiers and people of Ho Chi Minh City.

In her opening speech, Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairwoman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, emphasized: “This is the third time the Homeland Spring program has been organized in the city named after Him. The program is a special event for overseas Vietnamese every spring and New Year, a vivid demonstration of the care and concern of the Party, the State and the people at home for our compatriots abroad. We are delighted to welcome 1,500 overseas Vietnamese from all over the world back home - the beloved Vietnam to celebrate the New Year and attend the program as well as millions of compatriots watching the program from abroad…”.

President Vo Van Thuong delivered a speech at the program, in which he emphasized the great contributions of compatriots to the overall development of the country, serving as an important bridge between Vietnam and the world, contributing to building the image of Vietnam abroad, contributing to enhancing the position and prestige of Vietnam in the international arena...

President Vo Van Thuong also emphasized: “Overseas Vietnamese, regardless of generation or location, as descendants of Lac and Hong, are always a part of the flesh and blood, an inseparable part of the Fatherland, always present in the hearts and feelings of the country and the Vietnamese people”. Immediately afterwards, the President beat the drum to open the spring and sent his best New Year wishes to delegates and Vietnamese people returning to visit their homeland during Tet 2024.

The Spring Homeland Art Program 2024 with the theme Ho Chi Minh City - Continuing the shining epic (artistic director: People's Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, director: Tran Vi My, orchestra conductor: conductor Tran Nhat Minh), was staged grandly with the Ceremony and two major chapters: Continuing the epic, Pride of the City named after Uncle Ho, sent to overseas Vietnamese, city residents and international tourists special performances of music, dance and fashion, with compositions: Songs from the city named after Him, People searching for the image of the country, Hanoi - Hue - Saigon, Volunteer, the suite Country full of joy - Country, the song of Phuong Nam love of land and people, the song Spring confession, Come here and listen to me ... In particular, overseas Vietnamese artist Bich Tra played the piano solo with the orchestra in the work River of memories, performing the ao dai collection of Designer Dinh Anh Tho - Ao dai brand ACB...
