On the afternoon of October 20, President Vo Van Thuong returned to Hanoi, successfully concluding his trip to attend the 3rd Belt and Road Forum (BRF) in Beijing (China) from October 17 to 20, at the invitation of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping.
In Beijing (China), during his participation in BRF, President Vo Van Thuong attended the solemn opening ceremony with the participation of more than 4,000 delegates from more than 140 countries and 30 international organizations, with more than 20 heads of state and government.

In his speech at the forum, President Vo Van Thuong affirmed that Vietnam always supports initiatives that are beneficial to peace and development cooperation in the region and the world. Vietnam welcomes and has actively participated in many important global mechanisms and initiatives initiated by China.
Discussing the digital economy - a new driving force for growth, the President stated that Vietnam has identified the new space as the digital economy; the new productive forces are digital human resources, digital technology and digital data; and the new driving force is digital innovation. At the forum, President Vo Van Thuong proposed cooperation on the digital economy based on three pillars: digital institutions, digital infrastructure and digital human resources.
On the occasion of attending the forum, President Vo Van Thuong had many meetings with many heads of state, heads of delegations from countries and international organizations; thereby discussing and promoting measures to improve the effectiveness of comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and countries and regions around the world.
In particular, the President met with Russian President Vladimir Putin; met with Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev; met with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet; met and received Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith.

Also in Beijing, President Vo Van Thuong had an important meeting with General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping.
President Vo Van Thuong also met with Zhao Leji, member of the Politburo Standing Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China; and Cai Qi, member of the Politburo Standing Committee, Secretary of the Secretariat, and Director of the General Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
On the occasion of his visit to Beijing, President Vo Van Thuong and the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation visited a typical model of new rural construction in Xiaolu village, Heizhuanghu commune, Chaoyang district, Beijing; met with leaders of leading Chinese telecommunications and information technology corporations such as ZTE and Huawei; and met with leaders of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
Also during this time, President Vo Van Thuong met and talked with officials and staff of Vietnamese representative agencies in China.
