President Vo Van Thuong offers incense and flowers to commemorate President Ton Duc Thang

On the morning of August 19, President Vo Van Thuong and the Central Working Delegation attended activities to celebrate the 135th birthday of President Ton Duc Thang (August 20, 1888/August 20, 2023) and the 78th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam People's Public Security Force (August 19, 1945/August 19, 2023) in An Giang province.

Also offering incense were former Politburo members and former Presidents: Nguyen Minh Triet, Truong Tan Sang, Nguyen Xuan Phuc; former Politburo member and former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung; former Party Central Committee Secretary and former Vice President Truong My Hoa; Party Central Committee member and Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Le Hong Quang; representatives of leaders of central ministries and branches; and representatives of relatives of President Ton Duc Thang.

At the temple of President Ton Duc Thang, President Vo Van Thuong and members of the Central and An Giang provincial delegation respectfully observed a minute of silence and offered incense to commemorate President Ton Duc Thang, a staunch communist soldier, an exemplary leader, devoted to the country and the people, an outstanding son of his homeland An Giang, of the Southern citadel.

The life and career of President Ton Duc Thang is a shining example of patriotism; loyalty and devotion to the revolutionary cause; heroic and indomitable spirit; modesty and simplicity; love for comrades and compatriots; the spirit of great national unity and international proletarian solidarity.

Also at the President Ton Duc Thang Memorial Site, President Vo Van Thuong, along with members of the Central and An Giang provincial delegations, visited Uncle Ton's childhood memorial house and visited the place displaying images and information about the life and revolutionary career of President Ton Duc Thang and planted a memorial tree in the grounds of the President Ton Duc Thang Memorial Site.
