The President said that President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's visit to Vietnam this time has added strength to the friendship between Vietnam and Kazakhstan, enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the coming time.

On the evening of August 21, at the International Convention Center, Hanoi, President Vo Van Thuong hosted a solemn reception to welcome President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on an official visit to Vietnam.

Speaking at the reception, President Vo Van Thuong emphasized that the Vietnamese people always remember and appreciate the sentiments, support and valuable help that the people of Kazakhstan gave Vietnam in the past struggle for national liberation and in the current national construction.

The President said that this fine tradition will always be a source of pride and an invaluable asset for the people of the two countries. The two sides will work together to foster this friendship to further develop and sustain, for the prosperity of each country, and for the benefit and happiness of the people of the two countries.

According to the President, Vietnam and Kazakhstan have many similarities in history and culture, and have both experienced many hardships in the struggle to build and defend the country. The President said that President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's visit to Vietnam this time has added strength to the friendship between Vietnam and Kazakhstan, enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the coming time.

A Kazakh proverb says: “A tree stands firm thanks to its roots, and a person needs friends to stand firm.” The Vietnamese have a saying: “One tree alone cannot make a forest, three trees together can make a high mountain,” the President said, emphasizing: We have all the conditions to become good friends on the new journey of development.

Speaking at the reception, the President of Kazakhstan expressed his joy that during this visit he had a very successful meeting with President Vo Van Thuong and witnessed the signing of many important cooperation documents.

With a foundation of trusted political relations strengthened by economic, trade and people-to-people cooperation, the President of Kazakhstan emphasized that Kazakhstan considers Vietnam a key and important partner in the Southeast Asian region. The Kazakh people love the Vietnamese people very much and value the culture and history of Vietnam. That long-standing relationship and strong friendship will help the cooperation between the two countries develop strongly in the coming time.

“From today, a new chapter in the relations between Kazakhstan and Vietnam will be opened. We have a lot of potential and a lot of work to do ahead,” said President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, emphasizing that as President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, I will create all conditions for the relationship between our two countries to become increasingly strong.
