President To Lam and National Assembly Chairman Saysomphone Phomvihane emphasized continuing close coordination and mutual support at regional and international parliamentary forums.

Continuing activities within the framework of the State visit to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, on the afternoon of July 11, at the Lao National Assembly House, President To Lam met with Lao National Assembly Chairman Saysomphone Phomvihane.
Lao National Assembly Chairman Saysomphone Phomvihane warmly welcomed President To Lam on his first state visit to Laos in his new position, demonstrating the friendship and brotherhood of the Party, State and people of Vietnam; and congratulated Comrade To Lam on being elected President by the Vietnamese National Assembly at the 7th Session of the 15th National Assembly. On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Saysomphone Phomvihane extended an invitation to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to soon pay an official visit to Laos.
President To Lam expressed his joy at visiting the brotherly country of Laos and meeting again with National Assembly Chairman Saysomphone Phomvihane, a close comrade and brother of Vietnam.
President To Lam conveyed the warm regards of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and senior leaders of Vietnam to Comrade Saysomphone Phomvihane; sincerely thanked the good and precious sentiments that the Lao Party, State and people have always given to Vietnam up to now; and congratulated the great and important achievements that the Lao Party, State and people have achieved in the cause of national construction and development.
The President believes that Laos will overcome current difficulties, successfully implement the Resolution of the 11th Party Congress and the 9th Five-Year Socio-Economic Development Plan, and successfully prepare and organize Party congresses at all levels and the 12th Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.
National Assembly Chairman Saysomphone Phomvihane respectfully conveyed his warm regards to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and other senior leaders of Vietnam; sincerely thanked the Party, State and people of Vietnam for their valuable support and assistance to the Lao Party, State and people in the struggle for national independence and the country's construction and development today; and highly appreciated the results of the working trip of National Assembly Vice Chairman Nguyen Khac Dinh to Laos from July 3-5.
The two leaders reaffirmed that they always attach importance to and give top priority to consolidating and enhancing the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos; considering this a priceless asset and a vital factor for the revolutionary cause of each country.

Expressing their delight at the positive development of the relationship between the two countries in general and between the two National Assemblies in particular, President To Lam and NA Chairman Saysomphone Phomvihane emphasized the importance of the two countries regularly exchanging delegations and high-level contacts; actively implementing the Cooperation Agreement between the two National Assemblies, including organizing conferences and seminars to enhance exchanges and sharing of professional experiences; continuing to closely coordinate and support each other at regional and international parliamentary forums.
President To Lam highly appreciated Laos' successful organization of the first Summit of the National Assemblies of the three countries (Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia) held in Vientiane (December 2023); affirmed that Vietnam is ready to support Laos in successfully undertaking important foreign affairs activities in the coming time, including the 2024 ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) and successfully assuming the role of AIPA Chair in 2024./.
