According to the special correspondent of the Vietnam News Agency, on the afternoon of July 13, President To Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation left the capital Phnom Penh, successfully concluding the State visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia at the invitation of Cambodian King Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni.

Seeing off President To Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation at Phnom Penh Airport, on the Cambodian side were Senior Minister in charge of the Royal Palace Kuy Sophal; Minister of Tourism Sok Soken; Cambodian Ambassador to Vietnam Chea Kimtha; and officials of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On the Vietnamese side, there were Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Nguyen Huy Tang and officials of the Vietnamese Embassy, ​​along with representatives of the Vietnamese community in Cambodia.

This is President To Lam's first visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia after being elected by the National Assembly to hold his new position.

The State President's leading a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to pay a State visit to Cambodia is of great significance, marking a milestone in consolidating, nurturing and deepening relations between the two countries. Vietnam-Cambodia under the motto "good neighbors, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability".

During the visit, President To Lam met with Cambodian King Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni; held talks with President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), President of the Senate Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Prime Minister Samdech Moha Bovor Thipadei Hun Manet; and met with President of the Cambodian National Assembly Khuon Sudary.

King Norodom Sihamoni highly appreciated the significance of the State visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia within the framework of President To Lam's first foreign trip in his new position, saying that this demonstrates the importance of the Party, State of Vietnam as well as the President himself to the close and trusting relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia.

President To Lam holds talks with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet.

At the talks and meetings, the two sides expressed satisfaction with the comprehensive, close, increasingly effective and substantive development of the Vietnam-Cambodia cooperative relationship over the past many years, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries.

King Norodom Sihamoni and leaders of the Government, National Assembly and people of Cambodia expressed their warm feelings for President To Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation.

The two sides expressed their appreciation for the mutual support, solidarity, attachment and sacrifice during the past struggle for national liberation as well as the current national construction and development, affirming that this is an undeniable truth.

CPP President and Senate President Hun Sen expressed his gratitude for Vietnam's assistance and sacrifice in helping Cambodia escape the Pol Pot genocidal regime and revive the country.

The two sides especially emphasized the historical significance of the Vietnam-Cambodia relationship and agreed on the need to promote innovation and diversify forms of propaganda and education so that the people of the two countries, especially the young generation, can understand and correctly perceive the traditional friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, two countries and peoples.
