President: Continue the goal of building a strong, compact and elite army

(Dan Tri) - President Luong Cuong proposed continuing to adjust the organization and making efforts to complete the goal of building a "lean, compact, and strong" army; striving to build a regular, elite, and modern army by 2030.
On the morning of December 14, in Hanoi, the Ministry of National Defense organized a national scientific conference with the theme: "Vietnam People's Army - Heroic tradition, glorious career, core force in building a strong national defense". Speaking at the opening of the conference, General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense affirmed that under the leadership, direction, education and training of our Party, headed by President Ho Chi Minh, and the protection and support of the people, over the past 80 years, our Army has continuously grown and matured, maintaining and promoting the nature and tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers. With a strong will, courage, strategy and creativity, our Army has achieved glorious feats, together with the entire Party and people, defeated all invaders, reactionaries, lackeys and hostile forces, successfully carried out the noble international mission, brought our people out of slavery and regained independence. General Phan Van Giang emphasized that today's scientific conference is of great significance in continuing to conduct more comprehensive, in-depth, and complete research on the strategic vision and correct leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh for the Vietnam People's Army and the military and national defense cause. Based on the purpose and tasks of the conference, President Luong Cuong suggested that the conference focus on discussing and deepening the scientific and practical significance. Firstly, continuing to affirm the absolute and direct leadership in all aspects of the Communist Party of Vietnam over the people's armed forces and the national defense and security cause. This is a consistent principle throughout the Vietnamese revolutionary process, a decisive factor in all victories, ensuring that the armed forces increasingly mature, grow stronger, and successfully complete the historical mission assigned by the Party, State, and people. Conference scene (Photo: Nguyen Hai).Second, analyze, interpret, deepen and highlight the great contributions in the process of building, fighting, maturing and winning of the Vietnam People's Army, the qualities and cultural values of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers"; thereby drawing historical lessons, unique features of military art, Vietnamese military culture, etc. Continue to adjust the organization, strive to complete the goal of building a "refined, compact, strong" army; create a solid premise, strive to build a revolutionary, disciplined, elite and modern People's Army by 2030. On that basis, always be alert, vigilant, ready to fight, firmly protect the airspace, sea, border, inland, cyberspace; closely coordinate with the People's Public Security force to maintain security and order nationwide. Third, explain and affirm the importance of building a strong and comprehensive Army, taking strong political construction as the foundation; build a truly clean and strong Army Party organization, exemplary and typical in politics, ideology, ethics, organization and cadres,... Fourth, promote the core role in consolidating national defense and security, firmly protecting the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam; perform well the functions of a combat army, a working army and a production labor army, the core role of the Vietnam People's Army in building a strong national defense. Regularly consolidate the relationship of solidarity and close ties between the army and the people; Continue to maintain, promote and spread the qualities, traditions and culture of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in building and defending the Fatherland according to the Resolution of the 8th Central Conference, 13th tenure. Fifth, continue to thoroughly grasp, analyze and deeply explain the Party's guidelines and viewpoints on building and consolidating the all-people national defense, the all-people national defense posture associated with the people's security posture; build a solid "people's hearts posture", promote the core role of the People's Army in the cause of building the all-people national defense to defend the Fatherland.
