President visits and works at Air Defense - Air Force

On the afternoon of June 3, President To Lam visited and inspected combat readiness at the Air Defense - Air Force Command. Accompanying the President was General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member and Minister of National Defense.

Expressing his joy at visiting the Air Defense - Air Force Service, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, President To Lam sent his warmest sentiments and best wishes to the officers and soldiers of the Service.

The President emphasized that the process of birth, construction, fighting and growth of the Air Defense - Air Force Service is always closely associated with the glorious history of revolutionary struggle of the Party and the nation.

Recognizing and praising the feats and achievements of the Service, the President stated that generations of officers and soldiers of the Air Defense - Air Force Service have promoted the heroic tradition of the nation and the Vietnam People's Army, united, intelligent, creative, brave, resilient, established many feats and outstanding achievements, wrote heroic history pages, and forged many valuable lessons for the Army in general and the Service in particular.

The President emphasized that, implementing the renovation policy initiated and led by our Party, the Air Defense - Air Force continues to clearly affirm its role as the main force, the important core of the Vietnam People's Army; strongly promoting the glorious tradition, upholding the spirit of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", "Dare to fight - determined to fight and determined to win" with the tradition of "Infinite loyalty - resolute attack - solidarity and coordination - collective achievements."

The Air Defense - Air Force Service also actively and effectively implements the Party's policies and viewpoints on national defense and security, especially the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, focusing on building the Service straight towards modernization.

Faced with the requirements and tasks of protecting the Fatherland in the new situation, the Service has always demonstrated its will and determination, overcome difficulties and challenges, and successfully completed regular and unexpected combat readiness tasks; firmly protected the sky, sea and islands of the Fatherland; participated in search and rescue; and shared hardships, helped people overcome the consequences of natural disasters, epidemics, eradicate hunger and reduce poverty... shining a beautiful image in the hearts of the people and international friends.

To fulfill its tasks well in the new situation, the President requested the Service to continue to seriously and effectively implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the Resolution of the Politburo and the Central Military Commission on building a lean, compact and strong Army; thoroughly grasp and effectively deploy the Resolution of the 8th Central Committee (13th tenure) on "Strategy for protecting the Fatherland in the new situation", especially new thoughts and perceptions on protecting the Fatherland to advise, concretize and organize effective implementation.

The President said that the Army needs to constantly innovate and improve the quality of training and combat readiness; focus on building high-quality human resources; effectively absorb and apply science and technology in training and combat; improve production and repair capacity and apply new technological achievements.

The President requested the Air Defense - Air Force Service to focus on building truly clean and strong Party and command organizations, building a contingent of cadres and Party members up to the requirements of new tasks, maintaining the absolute and direct leadership of the Party in all aspects; taking human development as the center and core.

Along with that, focus on improving the comprehensive leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party Committee of the Military Service, building a strong Party Committee in terms of politics, ideology, ethics, organization and cadres; resolutely fighting against corruption, negativity, signs of degradation, "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party.

Promote the role and exemplary responsibility of key cadres in implementing tasks; strengthen the flesh-and-blood relationship with the people, effectively participate in programs to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, prevent and combat disasters, and rescue; promote defense diplomacy, actively contribute to ensuring weapons, equipment and training of high-quality human resources, close to the practical situation and current tasks of protecting the Fatherland.

The President affirmed that the Party, State and people always pay special attention and care to build the Vietnam People's Army in general and the Air Defense - Air Force in particular to become increasingly strong and comprehensive.

With the heroic history and glorious tradition of the Vietnam People's Army, the President believes that the Air Defense - Air Force will excellently fulfill all tasks in the new period, achieve even greater feats and achievements, and forever be worthy of the trust and love of the Party, State and people.

On behalf of the officers and soldiers of the Air Defense - Air Force Service, Lieutenant General Tran Ngoc Quyen, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of the Service, expressed his honor and pride in being the first Army unit to receive the President's visit, inspection and encouragement; at the same time, he affirmed that such sentiments are the driving force and a great source of encouragement for each officer and soldier to continue to strive to fulfill all assigned tasks, contributing to the management and firm protection of the beloved Fatherland's sky.

Understanding the President's direction, Lieutenant General Tran Ngoc Quyen affirmed that, regardless of conditions or circumstances, the Air Defense - Air Force troops are always united, overcome difficulties, excellently complete all assigned tasks, and are worthy of being the core force in the cause of firmly protecting the Fatherland's sky.

On this occasion, President To Lam offered incense at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House, the Monument to the Air Defense - Air Force Heroes and Martyrs, and planted a memorial tree in the Air Defense - Air Force campus./.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang signed a decision to appoint Colonel Bui Thien Thau, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Air Defense - Air Force, to hold the position of Deputy Commander of the Air Defense - Air Force, Ministry of National Defense.
