The President decided to spend 834 billion VND to give gifts to people with meritorious services on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of national reunification.

According tothe President 's decision, the gift (in cash) of 500,000 VND is given to revolutionary activists before January 1, 1945 to the August Revolution of 1945; Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Labor Heroes during the resistance war; war invalids, people enjoying policies like war invalids, war invalids of type B, and sick soldiers who are receiving monthly preferential allowances.

Resistance fighters infected with toxic chemicals who are receiving monthly preferential allowances; people who have contributed to the revolution; people who participated in the revolution, resistance, national defense, and international duty and were imprisoned or exiled by the enemy; relatives of martyrs who are receiving death benefits; relatives of two or more martyrs who are receiving death benefits; representatives of martyrs' relatives; people who worship martyrs (in case the martyrs have no relatives) will also receive a gift of 500,000 VND.

The gift amount for the two above-mentioned groups will be paid once on April 30. The total budget for this meaningful activity is more than 834 billion VND.

The budget for giving gifts by the President is guaranteed by the central budget according to the provisions of Point a, Clause 14, Article 170 of Decree No. 131/2021/ND-CP.
