On the morning of April 20, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ministry of National Defense, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, the Ministry of Public Security , the Ho Chi Minh City National Academy of Politics, and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee jointly organized a national scientific conference "The Great Victory of Spring 1975 with the New Era of Development of the Vietnamese Nation". President Luong Cuong delivered a speech at the conference.

According to the President, over the past 50 years, the lessons learned from the Great Victory of Spring 1975 remain valuable in the cause of national construction and defense. These lessons need to be further studied, applied creatively, and promoted effectively, contributing to bringing the country into a new era - an era of strong, prosperous development of the nation.

The five lessons learned are: First, firmly pursue the goals of national independence and socialism.

Second , we must proactively prepare in all aspects, mobilize all resources, grasp and exploit strategic opportunities, and move the revolution forward.

Third is to concentrate all resources to win step by step, moving forward to successfully implement strategic goals.

Fourth is to arouse and promote the strength of great national unity.

Fifth, strengthen international solidarity, closely combine and promote national strength with the strength of the times.

In which, the President said that national independence and socialism are the strategic goals of the Party and the Vietnamese revolution, in accordance with the aspirations and interests of the people.

During the resistance war against the US to save the country, the goal of national independence and socialism was expressed by the determination to "fight to drive out the US, fight to overthrow the puppet regime", unify the country, and lead the whole country to socialism.

After the country's reunification, the Party continued to lead the entire people and army to restore and develop the socio-economy .

Regarding promoting strategic opportunities, President Luong Cuong said that proactively preparing all aspects, promoting all resources, and seizing opportunities to bring the revolutionary cause forward to victory is an objective requirement and an urgent demand today.

Although the world context is complex and volatile, with many difficulties and challenges, it also creates opportunities for our country to take advantage of to develop strongly.

Our Party advocates: Now is the time, the country has enough power, enough will and determination to enter a new era, an era of national development, prosperity and wealth.

At the same time, many solutions were proposed, the first being to firmly maintain the ideological foundation, innovate, self-rectify, improve leadership and governing capacity, and build a clean and strong Party. The second was to carry out a revolution to streamline the apparatus. The third was to effectively implement Resolution No. 57.

Arousing the desire to develop the country

The President said that to defeat the enemy, the Party must have the art of governing, leading, and directing the revolution correctly and appropriately.

In the coming time, to proactively respond promptly to all situations, according to the President, it is necessary to arouse the aspiration to develop the country, strongly promote the cultural values ​​and Vietnamese people, mobilize all resources, and bring the country to develop quickly and sustainably on the basis of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation.

In the immediate future, it is necessary to focus on completing the tasks set out in the 13th Party Congress Resolution, striving for GDP growth of 8% or more in 2025 and continuous double-digit growth in the following years. These are solid premises for achieving the goal of becoming a developing country with modern industry and high average income by 2030 and becoming a developed country with high income by 2045.

Regarding arousing and promoting the strength of great national unity, the President said that the Great Victory of Spring 1975 was the result of the revolutionary war policy of implementing great unity, promoting the combined strength of the entire nation, closely combining with international solidarity, and promoting the strength of the times.

Building on this experience, our Party has constantly innovated the content and methods of mass mobilization. The Fatherland Front and mass organizations need to continue to innovate the content and methods of operation. Mobilize the masses to participate in patriotic emulation movements, strengthen the close relationship between the people and the Party and the State...

Regarding strengthening international solidarity, the President said that the Party continues to consistently advocate combining the promotion of the nation's combined strength with international solidarity, promoting the strength of the times. It is necessary to continue to thoroughly implement resolutions on international integration, promote and elevate multilateral diplomacy, and the strategy of protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.

Selectively absorb international experience, combine national strength with the strength of the times, national strength with international strength. Ensure the highest national interests, firmly protect the independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the Fatherland, protect national security and the socialist regime.
