The President affirmed that the Party, State, Army and people of Vietnam always attach importance to the traditional friendship with Belarus, which has been cultivated by the leaders and people of the two countries over many generations; expressed his appreciation and remembrance of the wholehearted and effective assistance that the people of the former Soviet Union, including the Republic of Belarus, have given to Vietnam in the struggle for national independence and reunification, as well as in the cause of national construction and development today.

The President highly appreciated the results of the talks between the two countries' Defense Ministers and emphasized that the bilateral defense cooperation has continued to develop in a new and effective manner in accordance with the signed documents and agreements between the two countries; suggested that in the coming time, the Defense Ministries of the two countries should continue to promote and deepen bilateral defense cooperation through the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially high-level delegations, effectively maintain existing cooperation mechanisms, promote cooperation in training, military medicine, and military history; contributing to peace, stability and development of each country and the region.
