NDO - On the evening of January 9, at the border commune of Pa Tan, Sin Ho district, Lai Chau province, the Border Guard Command coordinated with the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Committee of Lai Chau province and Vietnam Television to organize the art and political program "Border Spring warms the hearts of the villagers" to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam and welcome the Spring of At Ty 2025.
President Luong Cuong attended and delivered a speech. Also attending were Politburo member and Minister of National Defense, General Phan Van Giang; Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc; leaders of central ministries and branches; heads of units of the Ministry of National Defense and leaders of the Lai Chau Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee and a large number of local people.
The program "Warm Border Spring for Local People" is held every Tet holiday, Spring is "feelings - responsibilities", "sharing the joys and sorrows", "sharing the joys and sorrows", is the "gratitude" of officers and soldiers of the Border Guard towards ethnic people in border and island areas. The program aims to support ethnic people in border and island areas to have a warmer, happier and more complete Tet, is a vivid demonstration of the solidarity between the army and the people, of the flesh and blood bond between the People's Army and ethnic people, contributing to building a solid people's heart position, protecting the Fatherland's border.
In his opening speech, Lieutenant General Nguyen Anh Tuan, Political Commissar of the Border Guard, said that every year on these days, people of all ethnic groups across the country's borders are bustling to welcome border guards to celebrate the Spring Festival. To welcome the New Year this year, thoroughly implementing the leadership and direction of the Party, State, Central Military Commission, and Ministry of National Defense on organizing the Lunar New Year 2025, the Border Guard Party Committee and Command have directed units to proactively develop plans, make good preparations, and send thousands of working groups to the locality to coordinate with local Party committees and authorities to organize for soldiers and people to celebrate the New Year and maintain security and order in border villages.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Anh Tuan emphasized that this year is also the 10th anniversary of the program being organized effectively and meaningfully across all border and island areas, becoming one of the most effective and practical social security activities of the Army, contributing to taking care of the poor during Tet, bringing joy and excitement to the people in border, sea and island areas. Thereby, multiplying the strength of national solidarity, affirming the fine traditional cultural values of our nation such as humanity and affection; the noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", further fostering the trust, will and determination of the army and people in building and firmly protecting the territorial sovereignty and national border security.
Speaking at the program, President Luong Cuong expressed his impression and emotion when learning that, during the Lunar New Year 2025, along with the very heavy task of firmly protecting territorial sovereignty and maintaining security and order in the border area; officers and soldiers of the Border Guard have been closely coordinating with local Party committees and authorities, all levels and sectors to take care of Tet for people in the border area. This is an action that demonstrates the sense of responsibility, the tradition of mutual love and affection of the nation and the good nature of the heroic Vietnam People's Army, contributing to beautifying the image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the new era.
Along with that, the Border Guard stations and many families of Border Guard officers and soldiers, although still facing many difficulties and hardships, with affection, responsibility and deep gratitude to the ethnic people in the border areas, have implemented many movements, programs and models that are very practical, effective and humane, creating a positive spread in society, especially the program "Spring Border Guard Warms the Hearts of the Villagers".
The President affirmed that the program was organized with many specific, meaningful activities, close to the ethnic people; therefore, it has mobilized the participation, cooperation and contribution of many agencies, organizations and individuals from the central to local levels. With breeding cows, gift bags, rice, banh chung, scholarships for poor students overcoming difficulties, "Helping you go to school" and supporting 400 houses... that the Program presented today, these are not only simple material gifts, but also great and invaluable spiritual encouragement, which will help each poor family in the border area and the army and people of the whole country celebrate the traditional New Year of the nation more warmly, joyfully and happily.

Summarizing the country's situation in 2024, the President affirmed that under the wise, timely and close leadership and direction of the Party and State; the accompaniment of the National Assembly; the strict management and drastic operation of the Government and the Prime Minister; the efforts and strivings of all levels, sectors, localities and the entire political system; the joint efforts and consensus of the entire people, the entire army and the business community, our country has achieved many quite comprehensive results in all fields.
The macro economy remained stable, inflation was controlled, major balances were ensured; social security was given attention and care; people's material and spiritual lives remained stable and improved; national defense and security were maintained and strengthened, social order and safety were ensured. The work of Party building and rectification and the political system, the fight against corruption, waste and negativity continued to be promoted, achieving positive results; people's trust in the Party and the State was consolidated and strengthened. Foreign affairs and diplomacy continued to be promoted and remained a bright spot; the country's potential, position and prestige continued to be raised.
The President emphasized that the great and proud achievements of the country have important contributions from the Party Committee, government, people of all ethnic groups and armed forces of Lai Chau province in general; from the Party Committee, Border Guard Command, officers and soldiers of Lai Chau province's Border Guard and from the Party Committee, government and people of Sin Ho district in particular.
The President stated that 2025 is a year of special importance to the country, a year with many major political events of the Party and the country; a year of "acceleration, breakthrough, and reaching the finish line", striving to achieve and surpass the goals and targets of the 13th National Party Congress, bringing the country confidently into a new era, an era of national growth, an era of prosperous development under the leadership and rule of the Communist Party of Vietnam, successfully building a socialist Vietnam, a rich people, a strong country, democracy, fairness, civilization, on par with the world powers; all people have a prosperous, free, happy life, are supported to develop and get rich; contribute more and more to peace, stability, development of the region and the world, contribute to the happiness of humanity and global civilization.
According to the President, to contribute to the successful implementation of that task, the entire Party, people and army must be united, join forces, make the most of opportunities and advantages, push back risks, overcome difficulties and challenges, and bring our country to comprehensive and strong development, breakthroughs and take off.
The President hopes and believes that the tradition of solidarity, humanity and affection of the Vietnamese people will be increasingly multiplied and continue to spread more deeply and widely in the new era.
For Lai Chau province, the President requested that Party committees and authorities at all levels continue to focus on leadership and direction to thoroughly grasp the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; in particular, to maintain and promote the results and advantages, resolutely overcome the shortcomings and limitations of 2024, proactively remove obstacles and shortcomings; focus on organizing the successful implementation of the 2025 tasks right from the first day, the first week, the first month. In which, the armed forces must always be the core, the Border Guard is the specialist; regularly and directly the people and soldiers at the border, continue to unite and successfully carry out the task of managing and firmly protecting the territorial sovereignty and national border security; build a prosperous border area, a peaceful, stable, friendly, cooperative and developing border.
The President hopes and believes that the tradition of solidarity, humanity and affection of the Vietnamese people will be increasingly multiplied and continue to spread more deeply and widely in the new era.
The program “Spring Border Guard warms the hearts of the villagers” took place with touching performances about the relationship between the army and the people, further illuminating the symbol of a revolutionary army, born from the people, fighting for the people. Along with that were special cultural and artistic performances praising the majestic beauty of the border and welcoming the country into spring.
On this occasion, President Luong Cuong presented 200 "Border Warm Houses" worth 10 billion VND to people in the border area of Lai Chau province and 11 gifts to policy families in Pa Tan commune.
According to the announcement of the Organizing Committee, the total value of gifts that the military and people nationwide sent to the border areas through the program "Spring Border Guards Warm the Hearts of the Villagers" in 2025 is nearly 25 billion VND.
