Attending the incense offering ceremony were Politburo members: Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien; Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai; Party Central Committee members: Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son; Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh and leaders of a number of ministries, central departments and agencies, and Hanoi city.
The incense offering ceremony is solemnly performed to pray for national peace and people's peace, to show respect and gratitude to the wise kings and virtuous ministers who have contributed to opening the Thang Long culture, enlightening Dai Viet civilization, and passing it on to the glorious Ho Chi Minh era.
Many traditional rituals such as offering incense, flowers, wine, tea, sacrifices and folk cultural activities such as dragon dance, drum festival, flag dance... are recreated.

After reenacting ancient rituals, in front of the Dragon Palace of Kinh Thien,
President Luong Cuong
performed incense offering rituals and commemorated and expressed gratitude to the ancestors, the wise men, and the previous generations; reported to the ancestors the outstanding and comprehensive achievements of the country in the past year.
The President and delegates vowed to uphold the heroic and cultural traditions of Thang Long - Hanoi and the noble values of the nation; to be loyal, filial, intelligent, and pure-hearted; to follow in the footsteps of our ancestors, to continue the heroic spirit of Thang Long; to build an increasingly prosperous, democratic, equitable, and civilized country .
According to the Management Board of the Central Heritage Site of Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the incense offering ceremony to celebrate the beginning of spring is a respectful activity, paying homage to ancestors, honoring traditional values, preserving good customs and practices of our ancestors, inspiring the quintessence of national culture and educating traditions for the younger generation.
