President Luong Cuong affirmed that the Party, State, Army and people of Vietnam always attach importance to the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Belarus, which has been nurtured by the leaders and people of the two countries over many generations.

The traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries have been increasingly consolidated and developed. In particular, the political and diplomatic relations between the two countries continue to be promoted, creating an important foundation for developing cooperation in other areas such as defense, security, economy, trade, investment, education, science and technology, culture, tourism and people-to-people exchange.

The Belarusian Defense Minister recalled the long-standing traditional relations between the two countries, especially President Ho Chi Minh's visit to Belarus, as well as the support of the people of the former Soviet Union, including Belarus, for Vietnam's just struggle for national independence.

The Minister affirmed that the cooperative relationship between the two countries has developed very well on the basis of mutual respect despite the geographical distance. The two sides share the same stance on many international and regional issues, as well as an approach to a multipolar world for the benefit of the people of each country.

The Minister emphasized that Belarus always considers Vietnam one of the priorities in its foreign policy in the Asia-Pacific region and hopes that the two sides will continue to strengthen, cultivate and elevate bilateral relations.

Informing the President about the results of his talks with Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang, Minister Khrenin Viktor Gennadievich affirmed that the two countries' defense cooperation has had positive developments, helping to improve the professionalism and combativeness of the two countries' armies, contributing to the overall friendly and cooperative relationship between the two countries.

He hopes this visit will create momentum and open a new phase of cooperation between the two countries in the defense field.

President Luong Cuong emphasized that bilateral defense cooperation has taken new and effective steps forward, in accordance with signed documents and agreements between the two countries.

The President suggested that the two sides promote and deepen defense cooperation through exchanges of delegations at all levels, especially high-level delegations; effectively maintain existing cooperation mechanisms; promote cooperation in training, military medicine, military history, etc.

The President suggested that Belarus continue to pay attention to and support the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, including cooperation between the two Ministries of Defense.

On this occasion, Minister Viktor Gennadievich conveyed President Alexander Lukashenko's invitation to visit Belarus to President Luong Cuong at a suitable time. The President happily accepted the invitation and said that he would assign relevant agencies to make arrangements through diplomatic channels.
