Chairman of the Provincial People's Council: Delegates need to listen to voters' opinions and wishes to convey them to the year-end meeting

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 24th session held on the afternoon of November 18, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Hoang Nghia Hieu asked the Provincial People's Council delegates to listen to the opinions, recommendations, and legitimate and urgent aspirations of voters to reflect and convey to the Provincial People's Council session at the end of 2024.

After nearly a serious, democratic and highly responsible working session, the 24th Session - thematic session of the 18th Provincial People's Council completed all the proposed content and program and was a great success.

Personnel work has been carried out strictly in accordance with Party regulations and State laws, achieving high consensus and unanimity among the delegates of the Provincial People's Council. The Provincial People's Council has dismissed and terminated the duties of a delegate of the Provincial People's Council for comrade Thai Thanh Quy, former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, after being mobilized and assigned by the Central Committee to hold the position of Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Economic Committee and to complete the Chairmanship of the Provincial People's Council to meet the requirements of directing and operating the activities of the Provincial People's Council.

Provincial Party Secretary, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung and Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Nam Dinh presented flowers to former Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People's Council Thai Thanh Quy and his successor, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu.

This session also dismissed Mr. Ton Thien Phuong from his position as a delegate of the Provincial People's Council due to his transfer and appointment as Editor-in-Chief of the Inspection Magazine, the Supreme People's Procuracy; dismissed Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Hoa from her position as a member of the Provincial People's Committee due to her transfer and assignment to the position of Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; and elected Ms. Le Thi Hoai Chung, Director of the Department of Health, as a member of the Provincial People's Committee.

Provincial leaders presented flowers to congratulate comrade Le Thi Hoai Chung - Director of Nghe An Department of Health and comrade Nguyen Thi Hong Hoa - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department.

Immediately after this session, the Provincial People's Council requested the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council to complete the dossier and submit it to the National Assembly Standing Committee for approval of the dismissal and election of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Council according to the provisions of law.

Provincial People's Council delegates voted to elect the Chairman of the 18th Provincial People's Council.

The Provincial People's Committee, relevant levels, sectors, localities and units focus on synchronously and drastically implementing solutions so that the newly passed Resolutions can soon take effect.

There is not much time left from now until the regular meeting at the end of 2024, the Provincial People's Council requests the Provincial People's Committee to direct the Departments and branches to urgently complete the draft Resolution documents to submit to the year-end meeting and send them to the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council for direction of the Provincial People's Council Committees to review according to the assignment. Along with that, the Provincial People's Committee requests the Provincial People's Committee to direct the Departments and branches to seriously send representatives to attend the review meetings according to the composition.

At the end of 2024, the Provincial People's Council has the largest workload ever, with many very important contents, especially the consideration and approval of Resolutions detailing Resolution No. 137/2024/QH15 on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Nghe An province and approving the socio-economic development plan for 2025 - the year that determines the results of implementing the socio-economic development goals set by the 19th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025. It is recommended that the Provincial People's Council delegates uphold their sense of responsibility, access early the documents submitted to the Provincial People's Council session to study and give opinions at the session, contributing to promoting collective intelligence, improving the quality and effectiveness of the Provincial People's Council session; At the same time, listen to voters' opinions, recommendations, and legitimate and urgent aspirations to reflect and convey to the Provincial People's Council session.

Propose that the Provincial People's Council Committees prepare well for the work of reviewing reports and draft resolutions submitted to the session according to assigned tasks to ensure quality; proactively and thoroughly review draft resolutions by field after reviewing, accepting and explaining from the drafting agencies before submitting them to the Provincial People's Council session.

On the occasion of the 94th anniversary of the traditional day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2024) and the Day of Great National Unity, on behalf of the Provincial People's Council, I would like to send my best wishes to the staff of the Provincial Fatherland Front at all levels on the Traditional Day and my thanks for the companionship and support of the Fatherland Front at all levels for the activities of the People's Council, strengthening the connection between elected representatives and voters and the people of the province.
