Specifically, Mr. Nguyen Nam Hung - Chairman of the Board of Directors of SmartMind Securities Joint Stock Company - has just resigned from the highest position at the company.

In the application, Mr. Hung said that due to some personal reasons, he could not continue to hold a role in the Board of Directors.

Mr. Hung proposed that the SMDS shareholders' meeting approve his resignation at the meeting to be held on September 19. The time of resignation will be subject to approval by the shareholders' meeting.

Mr. Hung's resignation letter was dated September 9. On the same day, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Duong - a member of the securities company's board of supervisors - also resigned from his current position for personal reasons.

Notably, both of the above mentioned personnel have only held their current positions for a short time. For example, Mr. Nguyen Nam Hung was just appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO since August last year.

Previously, Mr. Hung was the CEO from June 2023. After that, Mr. Hung took over the position of SMDS Chairman to replace Ms. Do Thi Dinh.

Similarly, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Duong will also end more than a year holding the position in the board of supervisors after being appointed in April last year.

Regarding SmartMind Securities, this company currently has a charter capital of more than 1,000 billion VND, the old name is KS Securities.

In the past, this company has also changed its name many times. The predecessor was Vision Securities, then changed to Hoa Trung Vietnam and Vietnam Gateway Securities.

Regarding business performance, in the first half of 2024, SmartMind's total operating revenue was more than VND 86 billion, down 28% over the same period; after-tax profit reached VND 40.7 billion, down 27%.
