(Dan Tri) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and CEO Jensen Huang strolled Ta Hien Street, drank beer and enjoyed some snacks. The two special guests also held and played with the beer bar owner's son.
At around 4pm on December 5, Nguyen Duc Huy, 34, owner of a beer bar on Ta Hien Street (Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi) received a phone call to reserve a table for about 20 people for the evening of the same day. The organizer only announced that the group of guests "included ministers" and did not disclose the names of the guests. Two hours before the undisclosed group arrived at the bar, Huy saw the police block off the area and security was strictly controlled. The authorities had checked, assessed the situation, and checked food samples. "We calmly coordinated smoothly and prepared carefully with the organizer," Huy said.

An hour before the event, the two sides finalized the menu of 6 dishes: boneless chicken feet marinated in lemongrass and chili, pork ear spring rolls mixed with rice powder, shredded grilled squid, fried potatoes, fried sour spring rolls and fried tofu with onion. These are all common dishes when Vietnamese people drink beer, which the male owner described as "very... Ta Hien dishes", any tourist coming to the Western Quarter will try. While the chefs prepared the dishes, security personnel stood by to supervise. 30 minutes before the program, Mr. Huy learned that the special guests included Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Mr. Jensen Huang - Chairman and CEO of Nvidia Corporation - the world's largest chip manufacturing corporation, with a market value of more than 3,000 billion USD.

At exactly 10 p.m., the group of guests arrived on Ta Hien Street, and people along the street stood up and applauded. At Huy's beer shop, Mr. Jensen Huang happily poured beer for Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, enjoyed Vietnamese bottled beer and some snacks. This was not the first time the technology CEO had come to Vietnam and appeared in front of Hanoi street food stalls. The atmosphere became even more joyful and bustling when Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Mr. Jensen Huang shouted "Vietnam" together, praising the delicious food. While dining with the Prime Minister, Mr. Jensen Huang took a plate of chicken feet to invite guests and people around to enjoy. Mr. Huy said "there was not too much pressure" when welcoming two special guests, but "served like other normal guests". The VIP guests sat outside, while inside the shop, guests still ate and drank normally. "Everything went smoothly, comfortably, without too much disruption," Mr. Huy commented. During the shift at the shop at that time, there were 15 employees wearing red flag uniforms with yellow stars. This is the dress code for work at the bar.

Notably, the Prime Minister and the CEO of the technology group held and played with Huy's fourth son - Nguyen Duc Duc Vuong, 6 months old. The family lives at the restaurant, so Vuong is used to meeting many people. The Prime Minister and CEO Jensen Huang also signed the shirt with the Vietnamese flag printed on it that Huy was wearing. He said he would frame the shirt and hang it on the restaurant wall as a souvenir. At the end of the program, the owner of the beer restaurant spoke, very excited and proud to welcome important guests. He felt that "every great thing seems to come from simple things". He was impressed by the image of the American billionaire talking a lot about Vietnamese cuisine and street culture, he especially likes to drink Vietnamese beer. The tour of Hanoi's Old Quarter by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and CEO Jensen Huang was expected to last 15-20 minutes, but in the end, the two special guests sat at the restaurant for more than an hour, immersing themselves in the bustling atmosphere of Ta Hien Street. "The evening was meaningful and special not only for me but also for the whole neighborhood. I feel happy because I have contributed a small effort to convey Vietnamese culture to friends around the world, contributing to doing good things for society," Huy expressed.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang returns to Vietnam to fulfill his commitment to making Vietnam his "second home". On the afternoon of December 5, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Nvidia Chairman witnessed the signing of an agreement between the Vietnamese Government and Nvidia Corporation on cooperation in establishing Nvidia's Artificial Intelligence (AI) Research and Development Center and AI Data Center in Vietnam. Previously, in December 2023, Nvidia Chairman visited Vietnam's National Innovation Center (NIC) and emphasized that this trip would certainly open up future trips. "We believe that Vietnam will be Nvidia's second home and our largest center in the world. We plan to establish a legal entity in Vietnam," the Chairman of the world's largest chip manufacturing corporation emphasized during his visit last year.
