"Modern Capitalism" - A profound and comprehensive study

The Truth National Political Publishing House has just published the book " Modern Capitalism: Role, Impact on the World's Development Process and Vietnam's Policy Orientation" , edited by Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Dinh Quy.

According to the Publishing House, since its inception, capitalism has gone through many stages of development, from free competitive capitalism to monopoly capitalism, state monopoly capitalism and today modern capitalism in the context of globalization.

Modern capitalism compared to previous stages of development has a very high level of development of productive forces, applying high science and technology in industries and fields of the economy.

Developed capitalist countries, such as the US, Western European countries, and Japan, are the leading countries in research, development, and application of scientific and technological advances of the Third Industrial Revolution and the Fourth Industrial Revolution; leading in the fields of electronics, informatics, information, telecommunications, internet development, artificial intelligence, new materials technology, new energy, biotechnology, etc., fundamentally changing the production methods, quality, and efficiency of traditional economic sectors and creating many new industries, fields, and products, high technology, with added value and great competitiveness.

Nowadays, developed capitalist countries are also taking the lead in developing the digital economy, knowledge economy, smart economy... becoming economic, financial, scientific and technological centers of the world, with economic scale and per capita income among the highest in the world.

The book edited by Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Dinh Quy is a systematic scientific research work on modern capitalism. Based on clarifying the theory and role of modern capitalism, the book presents the current state of development of capitalism since 1945, especially since 2000 up to now in the fields of economics, politics, science-technology, education-training, ecological environment, etc.

The authors also put forward recommendations and viewpoints to contribute to supplementing theories on socialism as well as the rapid and sustainable development of Vietnam in the international integration environment, where modern capitalism is still playing a leading role in many trends and processes, thereby emphasizing that capitalism today needs to be studied objectively, with a comprehensive, multidimensional, and synthetic approach; avoiding absolutism, subjectivity, and voluntarism.

When evaluating modern capitalism, it is necessary to clarify both positive and negative aspects; on the one hand, to overcome the backwardness in theoretical understanding of capitalism; on the other hand, to continue to explain more clearly to strengthen the belief in socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam.

The book is a useful reference document, serving in-depth research on modern capitalism and related issues, contributing to providing scientific basis and arguments for continuing to supplement and develop Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh thought, the renovation path and realizing strategic goals and national aspirations in the spirit of the 13th National Congress of the Party.
