On the evening of January 7, the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense (PCTT, TKCN&PTDS) issued Official Dispatch No. 01 to relevant sectors of the province and districts, towns and cities to proactively respond to the strengthening cold air, cold and strong winds at sea.

According to the bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, due to the influence of the strengthening cold air, from January 9, the weather in the North, North and Central Central regions will continue to be cold; the lowest temperature in the North and North Central regions will generally be from 10-13 degrees Celsius; in the Gulf of Tonkin, the central and southern East Sea, the sea area from Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa , the Northeast wind will be strong at level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8-9, the sea will be rough, the waves will be from 3-6m high.

Pursuant to Official Dispatch No. 206/BNN-DD dated January 7 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on proactively responding to the strengthening cold air, cold and strong winds at sea; to proactively respond and minimize damage caused by natural disasters, the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue and Disaster Prevention requests the Steering Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue and Disaster Prevention of districts, towns, cities, relevant departments, branches and units to implement the following contents:

For cold weather, closely monitor warning bulletins and forecasts on the development of the strengthening cold front, promptly inform local authorities and people to proactively prevent it.

Review cold response plans; provide guidance on ensuring people's health, and do not use coal stoves to heat closed rooms to avoid human casualties.

Propagating and guiding livestock households to strengthen barns, cover and keep warm, store food; prevent and control epidemics for livestock and poultry; instructing on measures to ensure safety for rice, vegetable and other crop production. Proactively respond to cold and strong winds at sea

For strong winds at sea, closely monitor warning bulletins, forecasts and developments of strong winds at sea; notify captains and owners of vehicles and vessels operating at sea to proactively prevent and have appropriate production plans, ensuring safety of people and property; maintain communication to promptly handle possible bad situations.

Organize on-duty seriously, promptly synthesize and report to the Standing Office of the Provincial Command for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and the Standing Office of the Provincial Command for Civil Defense, Incident Response, Natural Disasters and Search and Rescue.
