It is emphasized that Da Nang city in particular and the Central region in general often face the impacts and influences of natural disasters, especially in recent years, the city has been affected by the type of natural disaster that is urban flooding, one of the causes of which is the lack of synchronous infrastructure connections. The city will continue to face and overcome this problem in the coming time.
“Departments, sectors, agencies, units and localities need to continue to pay more attention and focus on disaster prevention and control in the context of complex and unpredictable weather developments in the coming time.
Along with implementing the policy of restructuring the apparatus and administrative units, it is necessary to revise plans and strategies for preventing, responding to and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, but it is necessary to maximize the "4 on-site" motto, especially for wards and communes.
This needs to be done soon to be implemented in time for this year's rainy and stormy season. In the immediate future, we need to proactively respond to natural disasters and situations that are at risk during the hot season, especially drought, forest fires, and fires," Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong noted.
The City's Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense, the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the City Military Command and other departments, branches and sectors proactively contact relevant agencies of Quang Nam province to develop a common disaster response plan, especially issues that need to be focused on and the procurement and provision of means and equipment for disaster response, search and rescue work in a larger space.

The city has focused on directing and investing in improving the capacity to warn, forecast, monitor and supervise natural disasters, including installing 31 rain gauge stations, 79 water level gauge stations, automatic flood and inundation warning towers and building and putting into operation the City's Intelligent Monitoring and Operation Center (IOC) to serve the direction and operation of natural disaster response...
In addition, the city has been implementing comprehensive solutions for drainage and urban flooding prevention; building safe houses and disaster prevention works for people in areas at high risk of natural disasters; enhancing the role and capacity of State management in natural disaster prevention and control...
To improve the capacity to prevent, respond to and overcome the consequences of natural disasters, the city also recommends that ministries, branches and the Government support the construction of a natural disaster monitoring, supervision and warning system for localities to effectively serve the work of managing, responding to and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters; coordinate to review, evaluate and adjust the operating procedures of hydropower reservoirs on the upper Vu Gia - Thu Bon River to ensure effective flood control and water supply for the downstream; direct the early implementation of investment in the construction of water source regulation and adjustment works for the Quang Hue River, upgrading the system of dams of An Trach, Thanh Quyt, Bau Nit, Ha Thanh, etc.
