On the afternoon of December 12, Road Management Area I (Vietnam Road Administration) held a conference to review tasks in 2024 and deploy tasks in 2025.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Road Administration Nguyen Xuan Anh highly appreciated the results of Road Management Area I.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Anh, Deputy Director of Vietnam Road Administration, spoke at the conference.
In the coming time, Mr. Anh said that according to the provisions of the Road Law and related regulations, the management of national highways will be decentralized to the Provincial People's Committee.
"In the work of decentralization and the work of receiving and handing over transport infrastructure assets to localities, the Zone is requested to strictly comply with legal regulations and carefully review waste prevention plans," said Mr. Anh.
Regarding maintenance and planning, the leaders of the Vietnam Road Administration requested the Zone to conduct research to make this work possible according to new standards, promote maintenance work, invest in machinery, equipment, technology, etc. to improve work efficiency. Promote the work of preventing corruption and negativity.
Receiving the direction of the Vietnam Road Administration, Mr. Dinh Trung Thanh, Director of Road Management Area I, affirmed that he will always do a good job of political and ideological work for cadres and workers in decentralization, streamlining the apparatus, and always strive to follow the tradition of the transport industry.
Previously, reporting at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Deputy Director of Road Management Area I, said that in 2024, the Area was assigned to manage 19 national highways and expressways, including 15 national highways and 4 expressways with a total length of 1,806km; 257 road management facilities and reserve material warehouses; 1 vehicle weight control station.

Notably, last year, in the northern provinces managed by this agency, there were 4 storms, 1 tropical depression and 6 heavy rains, causing huge losses in human lives and property of the people and society. In particular, storm No. 3 (Yagi) caused severe losses in human lives and property.
Many landslides on the positive slope (the whole hill) with tens of thousands of cubic meters of earth and rock and many landslides on the negative slope caused road breaks, paralyzing traffic on national highways and expressways...
The leaders of the Zone directly went to the scene to closely direct, early, from afar, mobilizing resources to promptly and effectively implement measures to respond to storms and floods.
"After a short time, national highways and expressways in the area managed by the Zone were opened to traffic, serving the rescue work of local authorities and ministries and branches to overcome the consequences of natural disasters," Mr. Tuan Anh informed.
In traffic safety and vehicle weight inspection, the Zone currently only manages and monitors data from vehicle weight control devices at Km78 National Highway 5, Hai Phong City, and extracts data to report to the Vietnam Road Administration every month.
Statistics from the weighing station from January 1 to November 18 (Hanoi - Hai Phong direction), total vehicles weighed (1,126,392 vehicles), of which the number of vehicles violating (49,180 vehicles), equivalent to 4.36% of the number of vehicles violating.
