The business owner who installed sunshade canvas for Ly Trach Primary School explained why the principal declared the price of the canvas three times higher than the price surveyed by parents.

On October 25, Mr. Phan Van Quoc, director of Phu Quoc Production and Trading Company Limited, spoke with Tuoi Tre Online about the issue related to the case of the principal of Ly Trach Primary School declaring the price of installing sun-blocking canvas to be 3 times higher than the price that the company itself quoted to parents.

According to Mr. Quoc, the price of the tarpaulin that the principal declared was the correct price stated in the invoice issued by this company after the school finalized the payment, which was 630,000 VND/ ^m2 . Mr. Quoc confirmed that the previous school year he had made a similar anti-sun tarpaulin system for the classroom block opposite Ly Trach Primary School.

This business owner said that his unit had completed all procedures and documents related to this project in accordance with regulations.

"When we know the school's need for sunshade, we send a quote. Choosing who will do the work is the school's job. We give a quote and if the school chooses to do the work, we will do it," Mr. Quoc explained.

Responding to the fact that the company quoted the same type of tarpaulin to parents for only 180,000 VND - 200,000 VND/ ^m2 depending on the area, small or large, over ^10m2 , Mr. Quoc said that because he thought the person requesting the quote was... a competitor, the quote was lower.

As reported by Tuoi Tre Online, many parents whose children study at Ly Trach Primary School (Ly Trach Commune, Bo Trach, Quang Binh ) have sent a petition to the authorities to request clarification of the unusual signs of the school's principal when using socialized money contributed by parents to install a sunshade system for classrooms.

According to the petition, in the 2023-2024 school year, Ly Trach Primary School mobilized social funds at the rate of 250,000 VND per parent. The total amount of money contributed by parents was about 124 million VND (after deducting exemptions).

The school used this money to install a sunshade system for the entire 2 floors of the classroom building with a total area of ​​over 190 ^m2 and to repair the school's electrical equipment.

Ms. Cao Thi My Thuyet, principal, declared to the parents' association that this project was constructed by Phu Quoc Production and Trading Company Limited with a total cost of more than 122 million VND. The unit price according to the construction contract is 630,000 VND/ ^m2 .

Many parents have surveyed prices for similar products at many units in the area and the construction unit price for similar projects is less than one-third of the price declared by the principal.

The group of parents also directly contacted the above-mentioned Phu Quoc Production and Trading Company Limited to send pictures of the tarpaulin system that this company installed at Ly Trach Primary School and asked for a quote for a similar project.

According to the quotation sent by this company, if the total area is under ^10m2 , the unit price is 200,000 VND/ ^m2 , and if it is over ^10m2 , the unit price is only 180,000 VND/ ^m2 .
