Although it is an inter-provincial bus station, when entering inside there is no waiting room, ticket office, dispatcher... all the buildings have been demolished and built in the form of houses, not in accordance with the planning.
"3 no" station still collects payment for closing orders
In mid-November, Giao thong Newspaper reporters were present at Son Hai Bus Station (located on National Highway 48B, Son Hai Commune, Quynh Luu District, Nghe An Province).
At the time the reporter was there, the bus station was quite quiet, in the yard there was only one closed passenger bus lying still.
Another villa is being completed at Son Hai bus station.
More surprisingly, this bus station has no operator, ticket office or anything to serve the bus station activities according to regulations. The station staff is also nowhere to be seen.
Meanwhile, right to the right of the bus station (from the outside looking in), a modern 2-storey villa has completed the rough construction. Workers are completing the sub-items of the building.
A resident living near the bus station said that the land where the villa was built used to be the station’s operations and ticket office. Recently, the station owner demolished it and built a new house more than ten meters into the bus parking lot.
This resident also asked, with the current architecture of the building, is it known whether the bus station is used for passenger transport business or for residence? Because normally bus stations are not built in such an architectural style.
In 2021, Son Hai bus station also built a magnificent villa. Recently, the old operating house (marked in red in the photo above) was demolished to build a new villa.
Mr. C, the owner of a bus company registered to operate at Son Hai bus station, said: Even though the station has nothing, each time the station order is closed, they still collect 300,000 VND/time. Whether the car enters the station or not is not important. They just stamp the order.
Construction completed, management agency did not know
Bringing the issue of Son Hai bus station to the Nghe An Department of Transport, the department's leaders expressed surprise at the incident and pledged to immediately inspect it.
Regarding the Nghe An Department of Transport Inspectorate, the force assigned to inspect operations at the station, Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung - Chief Inspector of the Department said: We are forming an inspection team. If the station is in the wrong, we will handle it according to regulations.
The waiting room and the previous management house were also where Mr. Binh's family of three generations lived, so the new villa is certainly just a disguise.
It should be noted that in June 2021, Giao Thong Newspaper reported that Mr. Dau Xuan Binh, owner of Son Hai bus station, took advantage of the fact that the land use right certificate in the bus station area was still residential land, so he arbitrarily demolished some items of the station and built a 3-storey house in the bus station area.
Then, the Covid-19 pandemic broke out, so the matter was not thoroughly handled. The 3-storey house that Mr. Binh said was the management house and the motel is now his family's residence.
Now, still using the old method, Mr. Binh's family continues to demolish the administration house to build a house.
Explaining this, Mr. Binh said: We are renovating and re-planning Son Hai bus station to soon move it to the bus station in Quynh Luu district.
The new station has been completed. Currently, only one bus route to Dak Nong has been transferred to the new station, while the other routes have not been transferred yet as they are waiting for written responses from the departments.
Mr. Binh also admitted that the new construction projects at Son Hai wharf have not been approved by state management agencies. Mr. Binh promised: "I will direct my colleagues to do it properly so that there is no impact at all."
Son Hai bus station belongs to Huy Hai Transport Cooperative, is a type 4 bus station. This station was formed on the basis of land contributed by members and state land.
According to regulations, bus stations must have an operator's house, parking lot, waiting room, ticket office, fire prevention and fighting equipment, and security and order assurance...
