Unable to bear seeing his wife's health gradually decline after nearly 5 years of severe kidney failure, the husband decided to donate a kidney to save his wife. Fortunately, the kidney transplant surgery was successful - a new life was reborn from the love between husband and wife, right in the first days of the new year 2025.
Ms. NBTG (born in 1979, residing in Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City) has chronic kidney failure and has had to undergo dialysis 3 times a week since 2020. Recently, her health has gradually weakened, with many complications such as fatigue, swelling of the hands and feet, etc.
Seeing his wife struggling with illness every day, feeling heartbroken because his wife's hands had to be operated on multiple times to create blood vessels for regular dialysis, to the point of complete damage to the blood vessels in her left hand, Mr. T. (born in 1978, Ms. G.'s husband) decided to donate a kidney to his wife, with the wish to share some of the pain of illness with his wife.
Mr. T. is in good health and has no underlying medical conditions, so he hopes that his wish can be fulfilled. “Seeing my wife sick for so long and in so much pain, I felt sorry and could not bear it. I decided to ask for a blood test and the results showed that she was a match, so I decided to donate my kidney,” Mr. T. confided.
The surgical team removed Mr. T's left kidney through endoscopy and transplanted it into Ms. G's body.
After 6 hours, the kidney transplant surgery was successfully completed. The health of both husband and wife recovered well after the surgery. The paraclinical results after the kidney transplant showed that the recipient's kidney function gradually stabilized and returned to normal, and the amount of urine up to now is at the normal threshold. This is a happy sign, marking the great success of the surgery, a new life is reborn from the deep love between husband and wife.
