Comments on the draft plan to arrange and reorganize commune-level administrative units in Quang Tri province

This afternoon, April 16, the Steering Committee for the Project on the arrangement and reorganization of commune-level administrative units in Quang Tri province held a meeting to give opinions on the draft plan for the arrangement and reorganization of commune-level administrative units. Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Long Hai chaired the meeting. Draft plan to arrange and reorganize commune-level administrative units in Quang Tri province based on the Party's viewpoint on innovation, arrangement, and streamlining of the apparatus, building a lean - compact - strong - efficient - effective - efficient political system; properly implementing the principle of the Party's unified leadership in innovation, arrangement and management of the apparatus of the political system.

The arrangement and reorganization of commune-level administrative units must ensure comprehensiveness, synchronization, and unity within the political system; implementation must be careful, thorough, scientific, with appropriate, strict, and effective methods, in compliance with the Constitution and laws.

Harmoniously combine inheritance and stability with innovation and development; have a long-term vision, ensure stability for hundreds of years; promote potentials and advantages, expand development space of localities, meet the goals and requirements of socio-economic development strategies of the province and the country in the new period; serve as a basis for promoting decentralization, delegation of power, enhancing autonomy and self-responsibility of local governments.

At the meeting, delegates focused on discussing and giving opinions on the plan to rearrange and reorganize commune-level administrative units. In particular, it was emphasized that the separation and merger of new commune-level administrative units must closely follow central regulations, at the same time be suitable for practical situations and have a long-term vision; it is necessary to unify the naming of newly formed commune-level administrative units after the rearrangement in the whole province.

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Long Hai requested departments, branches and localities to urgently complete the draft before May 1 so that the Provincial People's Committee can submit it to the central government for consideration.
