Compared to the first meeting between the two teams of Vietnam and Korea in February this year, Vietnam's pool event hopes to have a good match when player Duong Quoc Hoang joins Bui Xuan Vang and Huynh Thi Ngoc Huyen. However, Tran Quyet Chien's teammates did not enter the game successfully, so the Korean team created a gap in the pool event.
Duong Quoc Hoang could not help the pool team create a surprise against the Korean team.
In the first match, Vietnamese female champion Bui Xuan Vang tried his best but still lost 4/7 to Jin Hye-ju. Player Duong Quoc Hoang had a very dramatic match with Korean male player Ha Min-ug, making fans "hold their breath" with each stroke. But the Vietnamese player still lost with a narrow score of 8/9. Huynh Thi Ngoc Huyen also lost 4/7 to Lee Woo-jin and the Korean team took the lead 3-0.
Duong Quoc Hoang and Bui Xuan Vang helped the Vietnamese team have the only win in the pool event.
It was not until the fourth match that the duo Duong Quoc Hoang and Bui Xuan Vang were able to reduce the score when they won 5-2 against Ha Min-ug and Lee Woo-jin. In the team event, the Korean players once again proved to be superior to the Vietnamese trio and won 5-1 to temporarily lead the Vietnamese team with a score of 4-1.
Female player Jin Hye-ju played very well in pool.
With this result, the Vietnamese billiards team is in a difficult position in the 3-cushion carom event on November 26. With the presence of Tran Quyet Chien and Bao Phuong Vinh, Vietnamese billiards hopes that the duo who reached the final of the world championship will both win to shorten the score. However, in the women's singles event, the Korean players are still rated higher than Nguyen Hoang Yen Nhi and Phung Kien Tuong of the Vietnamese team.
Vietnam billiards team awaits comeback of Tran Quyet Chien (left cover) and Bao Phuong Vinh
At 10am on November 26, female player Phung Kien will face Choi Bo-me. Immediately after that, Tran Quyet Chien (world No. 5) will face Heo Jung-han (world No. 14), Nguyen Hoang Yen Nhi will face Heo Choe-won and Bao Phuong Vinh will face Kim Jun-tae. If the score is reduced, the Vietnamese billiards team will hope to make a comeback in the team event as they did in February 2023 in Quang Nam.
