Recently, neighboring localities of Quang Nam such as Hue and Da Nang have hosted many large-scale events that attract a large number of tourists. These include the Hue Festival and the annual International Fireworks Festival in Da Nang.

“For a long time, the tourism industry and the tourism community have been thinking about how to create large-scale, attractive events like those in Da Nang and Hue. Two months ago, we sat down together and came up with the idea of ​​a kite festival. But the challenge was to make the festival large enough and impressive enough to captivate tourists. And then continue the tradition in subsequent years,” Mr. Son said.

With its vast heritage, culture, and people, and a coastline that curves like a white silk ribbon from north to south, Quang Nam possesses advantages that tourism investors always covet. However, leveraging these advantages and transforming them into impactful programs is no easy task.

Preparations are underway for the Quang Nam International Kite Festival 2024. Compared to other famous events that attract tourists from all over the world in Da Nang and Hue, the Quang Nam Kite Festival, even before it takes place, will not easily gain widespread attention without unique and distinctive elements.

The Quang Nam International Kite Festival 2024 will be held at the Hoiana Resort and Golf Complex (Tay Son Tay village, Duy Hai commune, Duy Xuyen district) from July 25-28. The festival will bring together kite teams from 12 countries and territories such as China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Australia. The teams will showcase spectacular kite art with approximately 100 different types of kites, along with a colorful kite exhibition space.

Representatives from the Organizing Committee and collaborating units all agreed that the kite display was the most suitable event and was considered when choosing the summer season.

Notably, the pioneering partner is a major player in the resort tourism industry in Quang Nam: Hoiana. This resort, with thousands of rooms, hosts thousands of guests daily, mostly international visitors from Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, and some others from European countries.

"For Vietnamese people, it's nothing new, but for international visitors, learning about traditional Vietnamese culture, including kite flying, is a novel experience."

"But more importantly, the Kite Festival is also a very valid reason for visitors to stay and relax in Quang Nam, to personally experience the beautiful stretch of coastline that is expected to be designed in the future to host events with a capacity of tens of thousands of tourists," Mr. Van Ba ​​Son added.

Mr. Le Quoc Viet, head of the Quang Nam Destination Club for Preserving Local Values, believes that by striving to find attractive products, the tourism industry will maintain its freshness and encourage more tourists to return.

On the other hand, kite displays on the beach are an attractive activity; visitors can not only watch kites but also enjoy local cuisine and visit exhibitions showcasing famous kite varieties from around the world. They can also try making kites themselves and choose a suitable souvenir.

A unique feature of the first-ever Quang Nam Kite Festival 2024 is that kites will be flown in demonstrations at night. Typically, kites are flown on days with fine weather, strong winds, and clear blue skies.

But with the help of high-standard lighting effects, these giant, exotic kites will shine with their LED-lit casings. Visitors will stand on the beach, watching the elaborate display of hundreds of kites against the night sky, under a starry sky.

Regarding further information about the festival venue, a representative from the Hoiana Complex stated that all residents and visitors are welcome to participate in the event.

A specially designed pathway allows for easy access for everyone, tens of thousands of square meters of sand have been cleared and equipped with sound and lighting systems, and experience booths to serve visitors.

Taking advantage of this event, Hoiana also launched promotional programs to allow visitors to both explore and use the resort's services. Special packages for relaxation and kite-watching experiences were designed at discounted prices.
