Last weekend, in an interview with computer scientist Lex Friedman, Elon Musk shared that, in addition to allowing people to operate a simple computer interface using their thoughts, Neuralink will provide them with special capabilities.

He stated that only after using the implanted device for communication did he realize how slow traditional human-computer interaction is. Therefore, Neuralink will be a technology that promotes symbiosis between humans and AI in the future.
Musk also emphasized that this is the best way to prevent AI from surpassing humans and causing us to lose control.
Neuralink was founded in 2016 by Elon Musk and seven other members with the ambition to change the world and unlock the potential of telepathy. In 2019, Musk stated that humans would merge and achieve symbiosis with AI. However, security experts are concerned that the system could be attacked by hackers.
In January 2024, the chip was first implanted in the brain of Noland Arbaugh, a quadriplegic living in Arizona, USA. After the implantation, he was able to control a computer mouse with his thoughts within a few weeks. The surgery is now underway for the next patient.
Musk asserted that Neuralink's goal is not only to restore normal functioning to people with neurological impairments but also to improve their natural abilities. He also stated that Neuralink users will have superior vision compared to the average person in the future.
