Official launch of State Bank Region III

According to Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Pham Thanh Ha, implementing Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW dated October 25, 2017 of the 6th Central Conference of the 12th tenure on some issues on continuing to innovate and reorganize the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined and operate effectively and efficiently, the State Bank of Vietnam has recognized this as an important and urgent political task and thoroughly grasped the spirit of urgency, making efforts to implement it resolutely and effectively with the highest political determination throughout the system.

In just a short period of time, less than three months, the Board of Directors, the collective of civil servants, public employees, and workers of the entire State Bank system, united, unified, consensual, and highly determined, have basically completed the arrangement of the organizational apparatus, ensuring the correct progress and roadmap set out.

To ensure the full implementation of the State management function on currency, banking and foreign exchange activities, and the implementation of the Central Bank function of the State Bank for the economy in provinces and cities, the State Bank of Vietnam has completed the reorganization of 63 State Bank branches in provinces and cities into 15 Regional State Banks, ensuring the implementation of State management, payment activities, monetary security, and treasury for the banking system.

In which, State Bank Region III includes 4 provinces: Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Hoa Binh; the headquarters of State Bank Region is located in Son La.

On March 1, 2025, the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam issued Decisions on personnel transfer and appointment in Region III, specifically: Mr. Trinh Cong Van, Director of the State Bank of Son La province branch, holds the position of Deputy Director of the State Bank of Region III branch and assigns the Acting Director of the State Bank of Region III branch; Deputy Directors of the State Bank of Region III, including: Mr. Pham Manh Kien, Mr. Le Cao Cuong, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Vinh.

At the Conference, Deputy Governor of the State Bank Pham Thanh Ha presented the decision to the Board of Directors of the State Bank Region III and the heads and deputy heads of departments.

After the arrangement, the total number of civil servants and workers in Region III is 140 people.

The organizational structure of the State Bank Region III after the reorganization includes 6 departments: State Bank Regional Inspectorate; Management and Supervision Department; General Department; Administration-Personnel Department; Currency-Treasury Department; Accounting-Payment Department.

The consolidation of the State Bank's organizational structure, including 15 regional State Banks, is the result of serious and drastic efforts by the State Bank's Board of Directors and Steering Committee, implementing the consistent directions of the Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat on implementing the "revolution" of streamlining the apparatus, which is a key, urgent task, of special significance to the country's development in the new era.

In the coming time, the State Bank of Vietnam will continue to implement related tasks to ensure progress, quality and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management, meeting the requirements of the Central Steering Committee and the Government Steering Committee.
