Government sets up committee to investigate BELL 505 helicopter crash that killed 5 people

Accordingly, the Government established a committee to investigate the accident of aircraft BELL 505 with registration number VN-8650 of the Northern Helicopter Company under the Vietnam Helicopter Corporation, Army Corps 18 ( Ministry of National Defense ) in the sea area bordering Gia Luan commune (Cat Hai district).

The leader of the Ministry of Transport is the Chairman of the Aircraft Accident Investigation Committee. The leaders of the Ministry of National Defense and the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (Ministry of Transport) are the Vice Chairmen of this committee.

The members are leaders of agencies including: Department of Operations (General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army); Air Defense - Air Force; Department of Search and Rescue (General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army); Navy Command; representatives of the Ministry of Finance ; Department of Transport, Department of Finance, Vietnam Maritime Administration (Ministry of Transport); Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation; representative of the country designing and manufacturing aircraft (Canada); representative of the country designing and manufacturing engines (France); leaders of the People's Committees of provinces and cities: Quang Ninh, Hai Phong; leaders of the Department of Health of Quang Ninh province.

In addition, the expert team includes experts from the Ministry of Transport from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, the Vietnam Maritime Administration, the Aviation Search and Rescue Coordination Center; experts from the Ministry of National Defense from the Air Defense - Air Force, the Navy, the 18th Army Corps, etc.

The Chairman of the Aircraft Accident Investigation Committee is responsible for directing the investigation and operating in accordance with Decree No. 75/2007/ND-CP of the Government on investigation of civil aircraft incidents and accidents.

Previously, on April 5, a tourist helicopter BELL 505, number VN-8650 of the Northern Helicopter Company, piloted by Colonel Chu Quang Minh, carrying 4 Vietnamese passengers, crashed in the sea bordering Cat Hai District (Hai Phong). The accident killed all 5 people.
