The Coast Guard Region 3 Command today (October 12) rescued and brought safely to shore 3 people who were in distress while fishing at sea.
That same morning, these men (aged 36-44) boarded a boat leaving Hon Khoi port (Ninh Hoa town, Khanh Hoa province) to go fishing. A short while later, it started to rain, strong winds and big waves caused their boat to capsize and sink.
All three people were thrown into the water but still tried to hold on to the boat and signaled for help.
Their accident location was about 1.2 nautical miles (more than 2km) north-northwest of Port No. 3 of Squadron 32.
As soon as receiving information about someone in distress at sea, the Command of Coast Guard Region 3 dispatched a ship and Coast Guard force 9033 to the rescue.
