TPO – Discovering a strange bird flying into a coffee shop in Thu Duc City (HCMC), people captured it and handed it over to the authorities for care.
On the morning of September 4, the Ho Chi Minh City Forest Protection Department announced that the unit had just received a white-bellied sandpiper voluntarily handed over by a local resident.
According to initial information, this animal was discovered by Mr. Dang Minh Thang (from Ben Tre province) at a coffee shop in Hiep Binh Chanh ward, Thu Duc city.

Mr. Thang said the bird had black feathers, a white belly, and a very large beak. He did not know what kind of bird it was.
Mr. Thang kept this strange bird and contacted the authorities to hand it over with the wish that the animal be returned to the wild.
Officers from the Ho Chi Minh City Forestry Department came to receive the animal and brought it to the Wildlife Rescue Station for care before releasing it back into the wild.
According to a forest ranger, this is a white-bellied sandpiper, scientific name Anthracoceros albirostris, weighing about 0.5kg, belonging to group IIB in the list of rare and endangered animals.
