(Dan Tri) - Fraudsters forged military documents, sent them to victims via Zalo to order goods, and then defrauded them of their property.
On December 5, speaking with Dan Tri reporter, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Viet Hoang, Head of Hue City Police (Thua Thien Hue), said that the unit had received denunciations and started investigating the case of a number of small traders in the area being defrauded and having their property appropriated by a stranger.
Hue City Police also received information from the city's military unit about subjects forging state agency documents.

Previously, Dan Tri newspaper received reports from a number of small traders selling food and foodstuffs at Dong Ba market and Cong market (Hue city), who were scammed out of large sums of money by a group of strangers using Zalo.
Ms. LTTA, a trader of imported frozen food products at Dong Ba market (Dong Ba ward, Hue city), said that on December 1, she received a call from a person calling himself Bui Bao Anh via Zalo application. This person informed that he was working at the Hue city military agency and needed to order food for his unit in large quantities.
The subject also made delivery and warehouse receipts, gate entry and exit papers, with fake seals and signatures of military agencies and military officers, and sent them via Zalo application to Ms. A..
According to Ms. A., after the calls and text messages, Bui Bao Anh ordered a large quantity of chicken thighs, legs, and ribs. To make the victim believe, the subject used the "tactic" of stalling for time, waiting for the report to be approved by his superiors.
A few minutes later, the subject continued to text Ms. A., informing that her superior had agreed and scheduled delivery the next day. The subject asked Ms. A. to take a photo of the vehicle and provide the name and age of the person delivering the goods to obtain a gate pass.

According to Ms. A., after finalizing the above order, the subject asked to buy 600 more boxes of chicken, to be delivered at 3:00 p.m. the next day. Knowing that the retailer did not have it, the subject took a photo of this item, along with a fake warehouse receipt, and sent information and address of a place that could supply a large quantity for Ms. A. to contact.
To "please" the victim, the subject said he wanted to do business long-term and would receive "reward".
Ms. A. said that on the morning of December 2, the subject continued to make video calls, filming soldiers practicing, urging them to deliver goods.
"The subjects called continuously, saying that if we didn't hurry, the boss wouldn't approve it anymore. It was 1 p.m., not yet bank hours, so I had to run to the ATM to add more money to my account to transfer to the supplier in time, to order 600 boxes of chicken, and transfer 54 million VND in advance," said Ms. A.

After Ms. A. transferred the money, Bui Bao Anh immediately deleted the friend group on Zalo, while the suppliers informed the customer that the purchase process was not followed correctly, so the goods could not be shipped.
"I asked to cancel the order and get a refund, but they said I had to pay an additional 27 million VND to get a refund. Only then did I realize I had been scammed," said Ms. A.
According to the reporter's source, in addition to Ms. A., at Dong Ba market there were other traders who were "seduced" by scammers using the same trick, but fortunately their family discovered it.
In addition, a trader at Cong market (Xuan Phu ward) and an agricultural products trading company in Hue city also became victims of the above fraud group.
