(Dan Tri) - Bat Long Pagoda is located in the middle of the whale lake in the heritage city of Hoa Lu, surrounded by vast water waves, becoming splendid when covered with shimmering gold.
Bat Long Pagoda is an ancient pagoda built by King Le Dai Hanh more than 1,000 years ago, of which only traces remain. Recently, this pagoda was rebuilt on the old land and architecture in the whale lake area, Ninh Nhat commune, Hoa Lu city, Ninh Binh province. Bat Long Pagoda is often called the Golden Pagoda by locals. The pagoda has a unique architecture, built on a small island floating in the middle of the lake, surrounded by water on all sides, the scenery is peaceful and poetic. Built many years ago, the Golden Temple has recently officially opened its doors to welcome Buddhists from near and far to come and worship. To reach this unique temple, visitors previously had to travel by boat. Currently, the temple management board has installed a system of floating pontoon bridges on the water to make it easier for people to come and worship at the temple. Bat Long Pagoda has become famous, attracting locals and tourists from all over the world because of its peaceful beauty. In particular, the pagoda is covered in shimmering gold both inside and outside, making it even more splendid. On weekends, many locals and tourists come to admire the pagoda and "check in" the beautiful scenery.
The temple management board representative said that the entire temple was built entirely from ironwood, combined with a tiled roof designed in the traditional style with a curved tail that rises up to the sky. The wooden motifs are exquisitely carved. In particular, these details are all gilded with shimmering gold, making them stand out, adding to the splendid beauty of the temple. Bat Long Pagoda was built in an octagonal architectural style with 8 equal sides, facing 8 directions, symbolizing the worship of 8 kings during the reign of King Dinh Tien Hoang more than 1,000 years ago in the ancient capital of Hoa Lu (Ninh Binh). Located in the middle of Hoa Lu city, on the way to Trang An world heritage site, the Golden Pagoda attracts many tourists to visit and worship. With its beautiful scenery and historical value, the Golden Pagoda is now one of the most unique pagodas in the ancient capital of Hoa Lu. The entire temple lies peacefully on a small circular island emerging in the middle of the lake, which makes people who come here to admire it often think of the Turtle Tower - a sacred structure in Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi capital.
