The surprise did not come in the match at Pleiku Stadium, the home team HA.GL only won 1 point through a 1-1 draw against B.Binh Duong. The score may have satisfied coach Le Huynh Duc and his team, but on the contrary, coach Kiatisak continued to sit on fire when the mountain town team still could not find a victory and continued to be at the bottom of the table.
Welcoming B.Binh Duong, an opponent considered to be “easy”, the home team placed high hopes on winning 3 points. Coach Kiatisak fielded the strongest lineup with Tuan Anh, Minh Vuong, Quang Nho, Ngoc Quang, Quoc Viet, Jhon Cley… and took the initiative to play an attacking style right from the start.
The advantage came early for HA.GL when they scored the opening goal in the 2nd minute. The goal was partly due to the visitors' defense, and Van Son did not miss the opportunity to score. Conceding an early goal, B.Binh Duong pushed up their formation to attack. Dangerous opportunities were created by Tien Linh, Ngoc Hai, and Hai Huy but could not be converted into goals.
It was not until the 27th minute that the visitors' efforts were successful with an equalizer, 1-1, scored by Janclesio, a player who had just returned after being suspended in the previous round. Boosted by the goal, B.Binh Duong continued to put pressure on the home team's field, but the final shots by Minh Trong, Viet Cuong and Vi Hao were all inaccurate.
B.Binh Duong players continued to control the ball more in the remaining half but no more goals were scored. In this half, coach Le Huynh Duc increased the pressure by sending Ibara in to replace Tien Linh but no more goals were scored. Meanwhile, HA.GL tried harder to focus on defense towards the end of the match, as if to preserve 1 point in this match.
With a 1-1 draw, HA.GL could not improve their ranking as they are still at the bottom of the table with 2 points, while B.Binh Duong remains in the middle of the table with 7 points.
