Details of the series of activities 'Colors of Uncle Ho's City' in the night sky of Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of April 30

On the afternoon of April 17, at a press conference to inform about socio-economic issues in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Nguyen Tan Kiet, Head of the Art Department, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, informed about a series of activities in response to the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

At the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Tan Kiet especially emphasized the series of activities with the theme "Colors of Uncle Ho's City" implemented by the Department of Culture and Sports in coordination with other units, taking place from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on April 19, April 26, April 29 and April 30.

The event will take place in front of the headquarters of the People's Council and People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Nguyen Hue walking street, City Theater, Bach Dang Wharf park area (including the Saigon River section, from Ba Son bridge to Nha Rong Wharf)...

In the series of activities themed “Colors of Uncle Ho’s City”, Ho Chi Minh City will display 3D Mapping by creative groups from France, Belgium, Singapore with the theme: “Journey of 50 years of heritage and future” on the surface of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee building.

At the same time, 3D Mapping presentation by Vietnamese creative group with the same theme above.

The series of activities also includes the program “Night of flower lanterns on the Saigon River” and water sports performances. Specifically, decorated flower lantern boats, Don ca tai tu boats, tourist boats… parade on the Saigon River, creating a beautiful picture of light on the river at night.

Ho Chi Minh City will display 3D Mapping on the surface of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee building.

The lantern boats are decorated with brilliant lights, combined with the art performances of "Don ca tai tu" will bring the audience back to the traditional cultural values ​​of the South.

Some water sports performances including paragliding with fireworks, sailing, windsurfing, Sup, dragon boat, jet ski, jet board, Flyboard flying performance, fireworks jet board, underwater art lighting performance also create a lively atmosphere and impressively introduce the diversity of the city's sports.

Not to mention, a floating stage on the river is arranged directly opposite Nguyen Hue street, creating a central highlight "transporting" the performing activities in harmony with the overall activities, creating an impressive art party on the river.

Notably, at night, in the high space of the Saigon River area (in front of Nguyen Hue Street), Ho Chi Minh City will display 2,000 drones (unmanned aerial vehicles) flying high and forming a symbolic image representing the development process of the city and celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and national reunification.

After the drone performance, Ho Chi Minh City organized a fireworks display to end the festival with a 15-minute grand musical background.

On the night of April 30, in Ho Chi Minh City, there will be a special cavalry parade and performance organized by the Ministry of Public Security on Nguyen Hue Street from Ton Duc Thang Street - Lotus Fountain (intersection of Nguyen Hue - Le Loi) to Nguyen Hue and vice versa; a trumpet music performance in front of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

Ho Chi Minh City will have a community art performance "Khan Ran Dance" in a community interaction style that creates a ripple effect in a large space (along Nguyen Hue Street and the area in front of the City People's Committee, Dai Sen roundabout area).

The performance created the image of the checkered scarf, a sacred object closely associated with Southern culture, associated with the resistance wars against invaders and at the same time a profound cultural symbol of the Southern people.

On this night, Ho Chi Minh City will display 10,500 drones flying in the sky from 8:45 p.m. to 9 p.m., to set a Vietnamese record for the largest number of drones flying at one time. This will be followed by an artistic fireworks display.
