CPI index in February increased slightly

In February, the strongest increase was in the food and catering services group.

February is the time during and after the Lunar New Year, and is also the time when many festivals are held in the province, attracting a large number of people, domestic and foreign tourists as well as foreign tourists. Total retail sales of goods in the month are estimated at 689.32 billion VND, up 24.47% over the same period last year; revenue from accommodation, food and beverage, travel and other consumer services is estimated at 373.96 billion VND, up 11.12% over the same period last year.

The consumer price index in the province in February 2025 increased by 0.26% compared to the previous month. Of the 11 main commodity groups, 5 groups increased in price; the strongest increase was in food and catering services, up 0.46%. The remaining groups kept the same price index compared to the previous month.

Compared to December 2024, the price index in February 2025 increased by 1.93%, of which 8 main commodity groups increased in price and 3 commodity groups had the same index as in December 2024. Groups with high price index increases such as medicine and medical services increased by 17.84%; food and catering services increased by 2.26%.

The average price index in the first two months of 2025 increased by 1.87% compared to the same period last year. Of the 11 main commodity groups, 2 groups had a decrease in index compared to the same period last year: transportation decreased by 2.57%; education decreased by 4.52%. The group with the strongest increase was medicine and medical services, up 17.99%.

The average gold price index in the same period increased by 37.84%, the US Dollar price index increased by 3.72%. Compared to the previous month, the gold price index increased by 4.43%, the US Dollar price decreased by 0.15%./.
