Coming from a farming family, Huong and her husband had a very difficult life in the early years of building their family. Her husband worked as a construction worker, while she stayed home to help her grandparents dry longan and plant 2 more fields. There was a time when the couple switched to pig farming but suffered losses.

After 3 years, she switched to selling at the market and growing onions in between seasons. In those years, the onions were brought back by the villagers for experimental planting.

Realizing the potential of onions, in 2005, the couple boldly rented more land to expand the onion growing area. Each crop was planted from 8 sao to 1 mau. Being sharp in business and having many connections during the time she went to the market to sell goods, Ms. Huong discussed with her husband to borrow more money to open an onion drying workshop.

Thanks to reasonable prices, reputation and quality, more and more customers know about Ms. Huong's family. In addition to customers in the province, Ms. Huong also attracts many customers from Thanh Hoa, Thai Binh, Ha Nam, Hanoi... Having experience in growing onions, from 2020 onwards, she continued to buy and rent more land in Thai Tan and Quoc Tuan communes to grow. At one point, her family grew up to 7 hectares of onions.

Currently, Ms. Huong mainly supplies pre-processed onions. From October of the previous year to January of the following year, her family usually supplies more than 1,000 tons of onions. She creates regular jobs for 4 workers with an income of 350,000 - 400,000 VND/day, and during the main season, there are 6 - 7 workers with an income of 500,000 - 600,000 VND/day.

Working hard in the fields, Ms. Huong is present in the fields every day to buy onions. After the season ends, whenever a family calls, no matter how far away, she rides her motorbike to the place to check and buy onions from the people. She and her husband have renovated their house to be spacious and fully furnished and bought a car. Family life is stable, and their children study well.

Ms. Luu Thi He, Head of the Women's Association of An Dong village, said: "Ms. Huong is good at public affairs, takes care of housework, and is diligent in business. She actively participates in emulation movements and builds the commune's women's association. Both she and her husband participate in the village's art club."

With the spirit of overcoming difficulties and eagerness to learn and become rich, Ms. Huong is a typical example for women in the village and commune to follow.
