Spending more than 158 billion VND to exempt tuition fees from kindergarten to high school

On the afternoon of September 26, at the 26th session of the 10th term Quang Nam Provincial People's Council, delegates voted to pass 17 resolutions, notably the resolution on tuition support for educational institutions.

According to this resolution, Quang Nam province will support 100% of tuition fees according to the collection level for public preschool and general education institutions in the area.

The subjects of application of this resolution include: preschool children, high school students studying at public and private preschools and general education institutions; students studying continuing education programs at provincial continuing education centers and at public general education institutions.

Not applicable to preschool children, students of general schools belonging to foreign-invested educational institutions; primary school students studying at public and private general educational institutions.

According to the People's Committee of Quang Nam province, the budget to support tuition exemption and reduction for public and private schools in the area for the two school years 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 is more than 158 billion VND.

Of which, the total budget to support educational institutions for the 2024-2025 school year is more than 93.9 billion VND, including a budget to support public preschool and general education institutions of more than 74 billion VND.

It is expected that in the 2025-2026 school year, the total support budget for educational institutions will be more than 64 billion VND, including more than 44 billion VND to support public educational institutions and more than 19 billion VND to support private educational institutions.

Up to now, Quang Nam province has 725 public schools, 722 private independent preschools and 72 non-public schools.
