According to statistics from the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, after the additional recruitment period for grade 10 from August 4-8, at 108 high schools that still lacked enrollment quotas, there were 1,014 applications for additional enrollment out of a total of 3,891 enrollment quotas.

Of which, schools in the suburbs and outskirts lack a large number of enrollment targets such as Phong Phu High School (Binh Chanh District), Nguyen Van Tang High School (Thu Duc City), Nguyen Van Linh High School (District 8), Vinh Loc B High School (Binh Chanh District), Binh Chanh District Sports Gifted High School... received from 30-82 applications.

For high schools in the central area, the majority of the enrollment quotas have not been met due to high admission scores. In addition, according to Mr. Nam, in this year's 10th grade entrance exam, more than 20,000 students failed to get into public schools, but only more than 1,000 students registered for additional enrollment. This shows that most of them have other options such as going to private schools, Continuing Education Centers, colleges, vocational schools, etc.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training will study and calculate adjustments to the 10th grade enrollment plan for the 2024-2025 school year. In particular, Mr. Nam said that it is possible to consider the option of students adjusting their wishes after knowing their exam scores to best suit their abilities.
