Spending 640 million VND to give gifts to policy beneficiaries on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of Southern Liberation Day

BTO-At the recent 33rd session (special session), the 11th term People's Council of Binh Thuan province passed a Resolution on spending to support activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) associated with the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Binh Thuan homeland (April 19, 1975 - April 19, 2025), at the request of the Provincial People's Committee in Document No. 1171/TTr-UBND dated March 26, 2025.

Accordingly, the basic content of the proposal of the Provincial People's Committee clearly states: spending on visiting and giving gifts to families with meritorious services to the revolution in the province is 1.3 million VND/gift (including 1 million VND and gifts worth 300,000 VND); quantity is 300 gifts. Total amount is 390 million VND. At the same time, spending on giving gifts to veterans and exemplary former youth volunteers who directly participated in the resistance war against the US to save the country is 1 million VND/gift. Quantity is 250 gifts; total amount is 250 million VND.

The funding source for visiting and giving gifts to families with meritorious services to the revolution in the province is taken from the social security expenditure source in the 2025 budget estimate of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (after the merger with the Department of Home Affairs) which has been assigned by the Provincial People's Council in Resolution No. 99/NQ-HDND dated December 6, 2024 of the Provincial People's Council and assigned by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 2136/QD-UBND dated December 10, 2024. The expenditure for giving gifts to veterans and outstanding former youth volunteers who directly participated in the resistance war against the US to save the country is from other expenditure sources of the provincial budget in 2025.

Previously, according to the audit report of the Economic - Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council, the content of this resolution aims to promote the tradition and morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" and "Repaying gratitude" of the nation. At the same time, taking good care of policy beneficiaries and meritorious people, especially during national holidays and Tet, is in line with the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws and policies.
