During the High School Assessment Exam (HSA), a candidate from Thai Binh province, taking the exam for the second time, was suspended and had all their exam results invalidated for using unauthorized materials and copying exam questions to take home.
At 5:30 PM on May 14, 2023, the High School Student Assessment Examination Council (HSA) of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) completed the fifth examination session (HSA 305) according to the 2023 examination plan.
Exam session 305 was held at 7 locations in Hanoi including the VNU Hanoi Examination Center, University of Technology - VNU Hanoi, University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi, Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment, Banking Academy, Thang Long University, Phenikaa University and 3 locations outside the province at Nam Dinh University of Technology and Education, Hong Duc University (Thanh Hoa), and Hai Phong Department of Education and Training.
On May 13-14, 2023, 12,471 candidates registered to take the exam, of which 96.7% were present.
The examination centers issued 8 suspension notices to candidates for violating the VNU's Competency Assessment Examination Regulations. Notably, one candidate from Thai Binh province, taking the exam for the second time, was suspended and had all their exam results canceled for using unauthorized materials and copying exam questions to take home.
This candidate scored 114/150 on both their first HSA exam on April 8, 2023, and their second exam on May 14, 2023.
According to the VNU's Competency Assessment Exam Regulations, candidates who are suspended from the exam will have all their HSA exam results canceled, will be disqualified from participating in any remaining exam sessions (if any), and relevant parties will be notified.
To date, the High School Student Competency Assessment Examination Council of Vietnam National University, Hanoi has organized HSA exams for 55,858 candidates and suspended 38 candidates for violating regulations.
The HSA score reports for candidates who took the previous exam have been sent to them by mail.
Candidates can check the shipping status of their exam score report for exam session 305 by logging into their HSA exam account at http://khaothi.vnu.edu.vn/ after May 20, 2023.
The score reports that were returned from previous exams due to no one being present or an incorrect address will be distributed at the VNU Examination Center every afternoon from Monday to Wednesday.
Previously, the VNU Hanoi Examination Center announced the score distribution for the first four rounds according to a normal distribution, with an average score of 75.2/150; a median of 75/150; and a standard deviation of 13.7.
The highest score achieved by a candidate was 129/150, and the lowest was 31/150. Compared to the same period in 2022, the average score in 2023 decreased by 2.4 points. The score distribution remained stable across each exam period, with 4.4% of candidates achieving 100 points or more.
