According to AS , the London club are ready to pay 60 million euros (about 50 million pounds) to activate Huijsen's buyout clause. This clause will take effect next summer. Chelsea hope to be able to add Huijsen's name to the squad for the FIFA Club World Cup in mid-June.

In addition to Chelsea, four other Premier League teams, Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle and Tottenham, are also tracking the Bournemouth centre-back.

In La Liga, Real Madrid once expressed interest in Huijsen. However, "Los Blancos" may withdraw from this deal, saying that the fee of 60 million euros is "too high compared to Huijsen's real value".

Chelsea's advantage is that Huijsen wants to continue playing in the Premier League, where he has established himself as one of Bournemouth's key central defenders. This season, he has made 27 appearances in the league, including 22 starts, scoring 2 goals. These impressive performances have earned Huijsen a chance to play for the Spanish national team.

Huijsen's value has skyrocketed after just one year at Bournemouth. In March 2024, Huijsen was valued at just €10 million by Transfermarkt . However, after one year, the 1.97m centre-back's value has quadrupled to €42 million. He is Bournemouth's most valuable player this season.

Daily Mail assesses that Huijsen is about to enter a major transformation period in this summer transfer window.

The clubs that made the most money from player sales Chelsea led the way in terms of player sales revenue over the past 10 seasons with 1.3 billion euros. Benfica and Monaco followed thanks to big deals like Félix and Mbappé.
