With only 29 days left until the US election, in contrast to the silence of previous months, Vice President Kamala Harris has begun a strong media campaign, while her opponent Donald Trump continues to harshly criticize immigrants.

The Hill newspaper reported on October 7 that in the new strategy, Ms. Harris will appear on many TV channels and participate in famous programs to attract voters' attention.
Earlier this week, she sat down for an interview with CBS 's 60 Minutes , and will continue to appear on The View , The Howard Stern Show , and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert . Last week, she also joined the Call Her Daddy podcast to discuss abortion rights.
Previously, Vice President Harris' campaign focused on defending her from moments out of her control, but that strategy has shifted as polls show voters want to know more about the Democratic nominee.
Ms Harris is now stepping up her public appearances, especially in friendly media, in an effort to build her image ahead of the election.
She also received support from her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who has been actively appearing in the media, including appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on the evening of October 7.
Former President Barack Obama will also campaign in Pennsylvania this week.
But Ms Harris faces challenges in key battleground states. In Michigan, the vice president has met with Arab and Muslim leaders to shore up support, but polls show she and Mr Trump are neck and neck among those communities.
In Pennsylvania, she struggled to connect with workers and union members, a constituency that was once the Democratic Party's base.
Still, the Democratic candidate leads Trump by 18 points among white college-educated voters, a margin that is far greater than previous party candidates like Joe Biden in 2020 and Hillary Clinton in 2016. College-educated voters are expected to make up about 40% of the electorate, an all-time high.
Meanwhile, on the same day, October 7, Politico reported that former US President Donald Trump continued to use increasingly harsh language to criticize immigrants.
In an interview with the famous conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, former President Trump said that immigrants commit terrible crimes because it is "in their genes", and that America currently has many "bad genes".
During the election campaign, Mr. Trump repeatedly used anti-immigrant rhetoric, pledging mass deportations if elected.
The White House condemned Trump’s remarks. Vice President Kamala Harris called on Trump to end his anti-immigrant rhetoric. In a New York Times /Siena College poll last September, Trump led Harris on immigration by 53% to 42%.
