At noon, a fire and black smoke engulfed a wood workshop of thousands of square meters in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City, causing chaos in the residential area.
At nearly 2:00 p.m. this afternoon (October 25), the authorities of Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City, were able to control a large fire at a wood workshop located on To Ngoc Van Street, Linh Dong Ward.
At noon the same day, a fire broke out at a wood workshop on To Ngoc Van Street, accompanied by billowing black smoke.
People discovered the fire and tried to put it out but failed. Inside the wood workshop were many flammable objects causing the fire to spread.
The factory fire was located in the middle of a residential area. Smoke filled the sky, causing suffocation and chaos among the residents. Many people had to be evacuated away from the area.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Thu Duc City Police mobilized many officers and soldiers along with fire trucks to quickly arrive at the scene to put out the fire and prevent it from spreading.
According to the representative of Linh Dong Ward People's Committee, the wood workshop that caught fire was in the process of dismantling and moving. At the time of the incident, workers were welding and cutting.
The cause of the fire and damage are being investigated.
