A large fire broke out in many houses at the Binh Phuoc intersection in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City, with red flames and a column of smoke rising hundreds of meters high. The police are currently trying to approach and control the fire.
At nearly 7:00 a.m. this morning (March 1), Thu Duc City (HCMC) authorities were still approaching the scene of a large fire at a row of townhouses on Highway 13, Hiep Binh Phuoc Ward.
Earlier, at around 6am, people discovered a fire breaking out from a house on Highway 1. The place of fire was determined to be a warehouse storing plastic household goods.
People ran to report the fire and used many mini fire extinguishers to put out the fire but were unsuccessful.
Receiving information, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Thu Duc City Police mobilized vehicles and soldiers to the scene.
Because there were many flammable objects in the house, firefighting was difficult, so the soldiers came up with a plan to extinguish the fire from many directions.
The large fire created a column of black smoke covering many trees and houses around. In addition, fearing the fire would spread, many people living near the fire had to move their property away from the area.
By 8am, although the fire was under control, firefighters continued to spray water to cool it down. The fire severely damaged four adjacent houses and burned down many properties.
The cause and damage of the fire are being investigated by authorities.
